Twelve-year-old Sven Jorgenson is battling feelings of inadequacy while trying to prove himself to his overbearing father. It has been four years since Sven and his family moved to the Minnesota prairie, a "promised land" where wheat grew as high as the cattle. But the grasshoppers put an end to any hope of prosperity, and smallpox had taken his mother. Sven survived but still had the scars that tore at his confidence. With his father preoccupied, he turns to his uncle for comfort and finds companionship with his cousin Nicolai. With Nicolai's encouragement and training, Sven grows physically stronger. And inspired by his mother's faithfulness, his belief in God grows stronger as well. But will Sven's faith be enough to save the harvest? What lies ahead for this prairie community will be unlike anything anyone could ever imagine.
They say art is an expression. For Steven Revland, art has been his salvation. A recovering drug addict and alcoholic, he has overcome numerous obstacles in his life, including childhood ADHD, dyslexia, and Tourette's syndrome. But what he lacked in formal education, he made up with passion and grit. For nearly fifty years, he has been working as an artist, and he is still designing and creating with the same passion he exhibited at the start of his career. And it is his passion that inspired him to pen an autobiography to illustrate the gift of hard work and determination. In Simply Revland, Revland relates his life story from his first childhood memories to present day. "I never let my struggles hold me back," Revland said. "I am self-taught in every aspect of my life." Reflecting on his career success, he seeks to honor his accomplishments in the face of adversity, having achieved national success as a furniture designer with little more than ingenuity and determination. "I don't necessarily perceive this as a book about recovery, although it could be," Revland said. "I see it more as a testament to hard work and perseverance."
Six decades ago, aliens attacked Earth, sparking a medical and technological boom. A small portion of people began reporting about superpowers, while others reported about monsters, as humans became a global minority by 40 percent. In a desperate act to maintain order, the world's governments constructed two organizations: The Scrappers to fix and sell alien scraps as vehicles or weapons to the people or to the government, and The Guardians to maintain the law and protect the people with their powers. In order to prevent another invasion, the United Nations began Earth Defense, a mix of people from every corner of the earth, some with powers and some without, that reports directly to the UN. Civ Domes were also scattered throughout the earth in case of attack by mutants or aliens. The Western nations treat them as stars among men, whereas Russia and China, along with a few other Eastern nations, view them as weapons. But this is not their story. This is a story of The Gators-those people trying to help this worn and weary society.

In this heartfelt and personal narrative, Officer Seth Williams shares real stories from his law enforcement career that has made the introduction, "He's a cop," an unfavorable one. Foreword by Lieutenant Brandon Chapin. When meeting strangers, one of the first conversation starters is often "What do you do?" For police officers (and their families), the question feels loaded; a jovial ice breaker can quickly turn into an uncomfortably awkward Q&A with the same few questions pouring in.¿ "What's it like to be a cop?" ¿ "What's the craziest thing you've ever seen?"¿ "Have you ever shot somebody?"¿ "My cousin is a cop in [insert state]. Do you know him?"¿ "I got a ticket this one time..." ¿ "What's your thoughts on...?" For those outside of law enforcement, the questions seem benign enough. However, as Seth describes in this book, the questions that follow the statement, "He's a cop," often bring physiological and psychological responses to reliving a call.

We are born with an innate hunger for a close relationship with God. In this book there are several examples of individuals that early in their life accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior and moved to a closer relationship with God. Time allowed them to make necessary changes in their life and to use their special gifts from God to the fullest potential possible. For most people it is a journey that extends throughout their entire life. This book shares many trials that my family, friends, and I have faced andtheir impact on our relationship to God. My hope is that this book will change some individual's direction and move them one step closer to the relationship they need with God.
