Convinced that an overseas education with ample opportunities for traveling is superior to a local one, Lam took up a Singapore government scholarship to study in Loughborough, UK. Beginning with the very first winter vacation in Germany, where he travelled solo and almost lost his life on a highway in Cologne, he tried to visit a different country every vacation. Whenever possible, he would stay with locals so as to learn about their culture and way of life, such as working on a kibbutz in Israel, lingering on a farm in Zambia, and trekking from one village to another in the Kelabit Highlands in Sarawak. In the five years covered in this book, he had set foot on five continents and interacted with people of diverse nationalities and ethnic tribes. The experiences had enriched his life beyond the confines of the four walls of a classroom; they constituted a form of education which he considers superior to the conventional approach through books and the internet. He believes that what one learns by rote, one is likely to forget later, but what one has personally experienced, one is likely to remember for life. For this reason, he chose to experience life.

"e;To everything there is a season. A time for every purpose under heaven...."e; The preacher summed it up. "e;A time to love, and a time to hate; A time of war, and a time of peace"e;. (Ecclesiastes 3: 1 - 8). Unfortunately, the dragon and his institutions on earth have no respect for this word of God neither do they have regard for peace and the rule of engagement in the Kingdom war. The dragon is a consistent, restless fighter and a very stubborn foe too. Therefore, the people of God have no choice than to draw the sword of fire in the universal power of Christ for battles day and night until the Lord returns. People in restive polity or places of the earth where diverse battles, both visible and invisible are ravaging the lives of men, need to migrate into the universal power of Christ. It is the spiritual hydrogen bomb carried by the redeemed anywhere in the world. It is the Divine Supernatural armour given to deal with enemies who are operating at the level of demonic supernatural including the ruler of demons himself. Heaven rejoices because true freedom, liberty and power have come to the people God world-wide. Thus, the principles of spiritual warfare presented in this book leads everyone into perpetual victory and this put an end to all cries of powerlessness in Christendom!Nevertheless, it is important that everyone obtain and read volume 1 & 2 of this book with a view to gaining excellent understanding of the forces behind the battles of life. Thereafter, it is necessary to master the winning principles before migrating into the unchallengeable, triumphant universal power of Christ. Then, you will testify that the era of powerless Christianity is over!

What motivated me to writeWhen I was in Primary Three, our teacher asked us to write about our holidayin December. I did not go anywhere or did anything because I only stayed at home helpingmy mother to peel "e; bean sprouts. "e;But while, I was doing so, my mind was making up a story about visitingmy Grandmother in Malacca and eating mangosteens in her garden and I let mangosteen sap run down my dress. The teacher liked the story and read it out to the class. The girls liked it too. Soo, I told myself I can write stories and make people happy.

The Subtle Way of Losing Things is a collection of poems written and collected in the span of eight years. These poems tell stories of heart break, the joy of loving, losing friends, growing up and growing old, and being lost in today's busy and modern society. And whether it is wisdom, maturity, understanding, or the pruning of Time we get in this lifetime, it is up to us how to make the most out of it.
