Este libro ofrece un analisis variacionista de la expresion verbal de lo futuro en el espanol de la comunidad de habla bilingue castellano-catalan de Valencia. Se investigan tres variantes: futuro morfologico, futuro perifrastico y presente prospectivo, y los resultados se comparan con los obtenidos en otras comunidades monolingues y bilingues del ambito hispanico. Junto a este estudio comparativo que permite conocer el paradigma alternante en el espanol de ambos lados del Atlantico, la obra aporta nuevos modelos para el tratamiento estadistico de los datos. Frente al programa empleado tradicionalmente en el Variacionismo, Goldvarb, se muestran las ventajas de Rbrul y del paquete SPSS; entre ellas, eliminar los knock-out y realizar analisis de regresion logistica multinomial. Tras identificar los factores internos y externos que estimulan cada marca temporal de futuro, se confirma el cambio en marcha favorable al futuro perifrastico y se corrobora el proceso lento de una doble gramaticalizacion: valor modal del futuro morfologico y valor temporal del futuro perifrastico.

A traves del estudio de un corpus de nueve novelas, caracterizadas por un fuerte componente sexual, religioso y politico, traducidas del ingles y del frances y publicadas en diferentes epocas del franquismo, el presente volumen trata de poner de manifiesto esta otra faceta de la traduccion, que bajo un sistema represivo se convierte en una poderosa herramienta de control ideologico y propaganda.

In the twentieth century, the boundaries between different literary genres started to be questioned, raising a discussion about the various narrative modes of factual and fictional discourses. Moving on from the limited traditional studies of genre definitions, this book argues that the borders between these two types of discourse depend on complex issues of epistemology, literary traditions and social and political constraints. This study attempts a systematic and specific analysis of how literary works, and in particular documentary ones, where the borders are more difficult to define, can be classified as factual or fictional. The book deals with several areas of discourse, including history, travel tales, autobiography and reportage, and opens up perspectives on the very different ways in which documentary works make use of the inescapable presence of both factual and fictional elements.

The last two decades have witnessed an upsurge in scholarship on world literature. In most of this work world literature is understood as a concept in intellectual history, as a cultural system or as a curriculum to be taught. Grounded in three empirical case studies, this book complements such approaches by asking what world literature in English is or has been and what role authoritative readers (translators, editors, publishers, academics and literary critics) play in constituting it as a field for others. The ambivalent position of English as a roadblock to international visibility and as a necessary intermediary for other literary languages justifies a particular attention to what is presented as world literature in English. By emphasizing the constitutive function of cross-cultural reading, the book encourages reflection on the discrepancy between what is actually read as world literature and what might potentially be read in this way.

Dans quelle mesure une etude comparee des pratiques et representations des langues chez des acteurs scolaires (enseignants, eleves, parents d'eleves et representants institutionnels) permet-elle d'identifier les facteurs relatifs a l'introduction ou non a l'ecole de la langue dite nationale - le creole a base lexicale francaise ? A quel point est-il pertinent de l'introduire dans le systeme educatif anglophone de petits Etats-nations en developpement comme la Dominique et Sainte-Lucie - caracterises par une dynamique sociale et culturelle ou conflit et contact de langues (anglais, creoles, chinois, francais, espagnol, hindi, garifuna et/ou kokoy) rythment la vie quotidienne des locuteurs ? Comment l'ecole peut-elle favoriser un meilleur apprentissage du vivre ensemble ? Pour mener a bien cette recherche-action, l'etude s'inscrit dans une approche experimentale de type hypothetico-deductive. Elle propose des pistes de reflexion pour ameliorer le partenariat langue officielle / langue nationale dans un contexte scolaire caracterise par des pratiques bi-plurilingues.

Un premier volet de l'ouvrage s'attache a preciser les enjeux theoriques du mouvement, de sa conception a sa representation et a sa realisation, d'une maniere generale et dans ses rapports a la vision et a la parole. La deuxieme et la troisieme section apportent des eclairages plus specifiques en focalisant le propos sur les aspects linguistiques.

Kaum ein anderes architektonisches Ensemble wirkt in seiner Gesamterscheinung russischer als der Gebaudekomplex des Moskauer Kreml. Interessanterweise wurden seine prominentesten Bauten nicht von einheimischen, sondern von italienischen Architekten errichtet, die der Einladung russischer Grossfursten folgten und in den Jahren zwischen 1470 und 1520 in Moskau tatig waren. Anhand ausfuhrlicher Analysen dieser und weiterer bedeutenden Sakralbauten Russlands wird der Frage nachgegangen, in welchem Umfang das kulturelle Selbstverstandnis der Russen den Anschluss an die von Italien ausgehende und sich in ganz Europa ausbreitende Renaissancebewegung erlaubte. Ein Kapitel uber eine seltene Ikonenreihe, die bestimmten Kanons westeuropaischer Ikonographie unterliegt, gewahrt einen Einblick in die zweite wichtige Gattung russischer Kunst dieser Zeit - die Ikonenmalerei. Als Sekundarquelle werden einige, der westlichen Forschung bis jetzt kaum zugangliche Berichte russischer Reisenden des 15. und 16. Jahrhunderts uber Florenz und Rom herangezogen, neu ubersetzt und ausgewertet.

Fra le molteplici opere di Giacomo Leopardi, scrittore precoce e prolifico come pochi, manca un¿autobiografi a: restano i progetti giovanili, abbozzi ricchi di spunti, ispirati a Rousseau e Alfieri, mai portati a termine. Eppure, la «storia di un¿anima» di Leopardi potrebbe non essere stata completamente abbandonata, se non nella forma originaria del romanzo. All¿interruzione dell¿ultimo abbozzo, nel 1825, potrebbe infatti corrispondere una nuova prospettiva, orientata anche da circostanze biografiche. Leopardi, confrontatosi con il commento alle Rime di Petrarca e la compilazione della Crestomazia poetica, si è forse ispirato a queste autobiografi e liriche per ridisegnare l¿indice dei Canti e raccontare la sua vita con il linguaggio evocativo e nel contempo controllato dei versi.

Gemäß dieser von Grund auf experimentellen, polymorphen und kosmopolitischen Geste basiert diese Publikation auf Zirkulationen zwischen den wissenschaftlichen Disziplinen und Territorien. Durch die Kollaboration der Archivare und der Forscher, durch den Dialog zwischen den Max Reinhardt-Spezialisten und den Vertretern der zahlreichen Wirkungsgebiete entsteht ein künstlerischer und kultureller Atlas von dieser Epoche und von Max Reinhardts Erbe bis heute.

Ernst Lichtenhahn ist ohne Übertreibung ein Doyen der schweizerischen Musikforschung. Als einer der wenigen Musikwissenschaftler im deutschsprachigen Raum hat er unterschiedliche sprachkulturelle und disziplinäre Forschungstraditionen zusammengeführt. In seinem Wissenschaftsverständnis sind historische und systematische Musikwissenschaft, Musikethnologie und Musikpraxis ganz im Sinne des von Guido Adler formulierten holistischen Konzepts sowohl methodisch wie auch inhaltlich immer eng aufeinander bezogen.
