The book deals with the Jewish presence in the first half of the 20th century in two cities - Warsaw and Berlin. The analyzed and described material consists of literary works of selected authors. Particular attention was paid to the formation of modern Jewish identities in both capitals.

Das Verständnis von Liebe und Partnerschaft hat sich unter den Bedingungen der Spätmoderne verändert: Durch Digitalisierung, Globalisierung und die gesellschaftliche Akzeptanz von alternativen Lebensmodellen erscheint der Möglichkeitsraum der Liebe unendlich ausgedehnt. Auf diese Veränderung reagiert auch die Literatur. Der vorliegende Band verbindet spieltheoretische Ansätze (von Kant bis Baudrillard) mit (post-)modernen Liebeskonzeptionen (vor allem von Niklas Luhmann, Roland Barthes und Eva Illouz), um einen Blick auf die Auseinandersetzung mit den Geschlechterbeziehungen in der Gegenwartsliteratur zu werfen. Er geht der These nach, dass die Liebe unter den Bedingungen der Spätmoderne ein Phänomen ist, das sich mit Schlüsselkategorien der Spieltheorie adäquat erfassen lässt.
