Gegenstand dieser Publikation sind die narrativen Beschreibungen zur Neuburger Hochzeitsfeier 1574, die bislang weder editorisch noch gattungsanalytisch erschlossen wurden. Die zugrunde gelegten Quellen werden in einer Edition einem breiteren Lesepublikum zugänglich gemacht und inhaltlich kommentiert. Weiterhin wird auf der Quellengrundlage eine Gattungsbeschreibung für die frühen handschriftlichen Festbeschreibungen in der zweiten Hälfte des 16. Jahrhunderts geleistet. Es zeigt sich, dass für diese, für ein binnenhöfisches Publikum bestimmten Festbeschreibungen kein striktes Kontingenztabu besteht, so wie es für Drucke definiert ist. Anhand der Textzeugen zur Neuburger Hochzeit kann gezeigt werden, dass es einer Neubewertung der Gattung bedarf.Dieses Werk enthält die Edition der Festbeschreibungen zur Neuburger Hochzeit (1574) (Kap. 3.2) als Anhang.
