Silver Winner, Personal Growth & Self Help, Nautilus Book Awards "A rare achievement that discusses the witch wound with historical depth and also offers practical invitations to heal the wound on a personal and collective level."--Danielle Dulsky, author of The Holy Wild You were born to live a magical life. Deep within your soul, you know this; it is why you picked up this book. But there is another reason why you now hold this book in your hands: because some part of you feels it is unsafe to fully embrace the magic that exists within and around you. This part of you carries an age-old wound--one that keeps you from claiming your magic, owning your power, and shining fearlessly in your truth. This is the "witch wound." Healing the witch wound is not about going back in time or dwelling on the atrocities of the past--quite the opposite. This work is about taking steps now to reclaim your power, live a more magical life, and embody your most authentic self. This book will lead you through a diverse range of practices, including spell work, rituals, meditations, and journal prompts to help you uncover and work through feelings of reticence, uncertainty, and fear. Some practices may not resonate for you, while others may be deeply impactful. Take what works, adapt and customize where you can, and leave the rest. This is your journey.

"An excellent body of practice for those wishing to explore the vast depths of the magic of the Solomonic pentacles." --David Rankine, author of The Grimoire Encyclopaedia The Key of Solomon is a family of closely related historic grimoires legendarily attributed to Solomon, the biblical Magician King. Most famously, Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers's 1889 English edition presented forty-four Hebrew seals, commonly called the "planetary pentacles." However, it offered very little guidance for how to work with them. Sara L. Mastros, a leading teacher and practitioner of magic, translates and interprets each of these pentacles and presents practical methods for working with their magical powers, creating a clear, accessible user's guide. "Sara Mastros has provided a deep dive into the forty-four pentacles as codified by Mathers. Drawing on a wide variety of sources and her own experiences, she includes many easy-to-follow exercises for exploring them." --Joseph Peterson, author of The Secrets of Solomon In The Sorcery of Solomon, Mastros places The Key of Solomon in a historical and folkloric context, presenting a complete, fresh translation of the forty-four pentacles, all of which have been newly illustrated. She guides the reader through the process of working with Solomonic pentacles and more. Primarily intended for intermediate-level magicians who already have a basic knowledge of spellcraft, The Sorcery of Solomon is also appropriate for beginners who are willing to do a bit of extra "homework." "Sara Mastros manages to illuminate the past history of the pentacles while shining a light forward into the future with clear and thoughtful instruction. Not only does she fully explain the design of each pentacle, correcting many errors along the way, but she shares advice and insight gained from her own work. The Sorcery of Solomon delivers what it promises: a fully workable system of magic." --Jason Miller, author of Protection and Reversal Magic

"A practical guide to working with Anubis, ancient Egypt's god of death and the afterlife. Anubis is among the most recognizable gods of ancient Egypt. His image has become a symbol of ancient Egypt, but who is he? Is Anubis a relic of the past, or is he actively venerated now? Author Charlie Larson, a longtime priest and devotee of Anubis, answers these questions and more. Portrayed as either a black jackal or as a jackal-headed man, Anubis is Egypt's original Lord of the Dead. That title was eventually transferred to Osiris, but even then, Anubis continued to be the most active participant in the after-death process, supervising rituals that determined what would befall the dead soul, and he is credited as the inventor of mummification. Anubis's domain extends beyond death, however; he is also a guardian of children and travelers and a finder of lost things. As the goddess Isis, Anubis's adopted mother, became popular outside Egypt, with temples in Rome and extending as far as the British Isles, Anubis, her guardian, traveled with her. He is as modern as he is ancient-appearing in comic books, video games, and in Neil Gaiman's book American Gods and its television adaptation. (He's Mr. Jacquel.) Anubis was among the most significant gods of ancient Egypt. An Anubis shrine was discovered within the tomb of King Tutankhamen. In modern times, Anubis has emerged as a sacred patron of mediums and occultists. It's widely believed that his image is among the two canines found on the tarot Moon card. Long overshadowed, at least in books, by Egyptian goddesses such as Isis and Sekhmet, Larson's book focuses the spotlight squarely on the jackal-headed god. His book features history and mythology but is also a practical guide to working with Anubis now. It features devotional practices and modern worship that includes rituals, prayers/invocations, correspondences, altars, and epithets. The book leads the reader on a journey of exploration into all things Anubis, exploring his various facets, including death deity, psychopomp, and protector. Each chapter concludes with a reflective journal prompt that matches the theme of that chapter"--

"A much-needed guide to this increasingly popular divination system written by a Lenormand master and teacher. The Lenormand deck, consisting of 36 numbered and named cards, has been popular in Europe for centuries, and has now been embraced in North America by tarot enthusiasts, oracle readers, and others. Each card depicts an archetype - a fox, a snake, a coffin, or whip, for example - rather than tarot's somewhat more involved symbology. This makes the Lenormand system an easy entry point to divination. Respected Lenormand authority, Erika Robinson believes that Lenormand is not just a deck of cards, but is also a language that, if mastered, can help one achieve self-empowerment and the ability to attain the life you desire. In this, her first book, Robinson, a longtime English teacher, helps readers become fluent in the language of Lenormand. The author provides a guide to the meanings of each card, so that no prior knowledge of Lenormand is required, however this is a sophisticated Lenormand book that takes Lenormand to the next level and is suitable for those who are already familiar with it"--

"The Egyptian Book of the Dead is one of the oldest and greatest classics of Western spirituality. Until now, the available translations have treated these writings as historical curiosities that have little relevance to our contemporary situations. This new version, made from the hieroglyphs, approaches the Book of the Dead as a profound spiritual text capable of speaking to us today. These writings suggest that the divine realm and the human realm are not altogether separate-they remind us that the natural world, and the substance of our lives, is fashioned from the stuff of the gods"--

"A contemporary, inclusive, nonbinary, and forward-thinking approach to the runes. Queering the Runes is a love letter to the runes, the gods, and the people who follow the Nordic path. The author presents an alternative approach to the runes, one that creates a gentle container for those who want to follow this heathen path. Based on the author's personal gnosis, as well as deep academic research on runes and Nordic culture, this book is an invitation into the root culture of the runes, both in terms of myth and in terms of lived, real folkloric experience. Siri Vincent Plouff presents the traditional meanings of the runes, then helps the reader to queer the runes in their own way. Included is the lore associated with each rune, exercises to apply them to modern life, activities to engage with the rune (layouts, castings, and galdr), and how to use the runes for divination. Throughout, the author provides journal prompts meant to help the reader channel the energy of specific runes, to get to know their energy, as well as to use the runes to help them move forward in a journey of self-discovery. Queering the Runes seeks to blow open perceptions of the runes. Exploring them as active, living symbols available to all, as well as the inherent connection with ancestral magic that comes with rune work"--

"Lore of the Watcher angels is an important and often overlooked part of Jewish and Christian traditions that exerts a strong influence on Western magic and occultism. Harold Roth tackles complicated texts like the books of Enoch and Jubilees alongside traditions like Merkavah mysticism and Christian demonology and, in plain language, gives the clearest and best examination of the Watchers and the Nephilim that I have come across yet." --Jason Miller, author of Consorting with Spirits and other books The Book of Enoch has captured and commanded interest for the past two thousand years. Sometimes part of religious canon and doctrine, and sometimes outright banned, the Book of Enoch is more popular today than ever. Still many questions remain. Who was Enoch? Who--or what--were the Watchers, and what knowledge did they bring? What became of their wives and their children, the rapacious half-man, half-angel giants, the Nephilim? From Renaissance magic of Dr. John Dee and early Christian apocalyptic texts, to contemporary conspiracy theories and modern magical angelology, the Book of Enoch has been influential in many spiritual and religious traditions. What has been missing from the various approaches to the Book of Enoch are any real attempts to find not only what is at the center of these stories but also their connections to magic. The Forbidden Knowledge of the Book of Enoch identifies and elucidates those connections.

Learn a straightforward method for using astrological terms to interpret the correspondences of the planets, zodiac signs, cardinal axes, houses, and aspects. Astrology is the language of the cosmos. For anyone interested in "reading"--that is, interpreting--a birth chart, understanding the language is key. As in any language, there are rules and patterns to follow. Authors Hajo Banzhaf and Anna Haebler take the mystery and confusion out of astrological interpretation. The authors begin with a concise breakdown of the horoscope, presenting the reader with a solid but easy-to-grasp foundation on what reading a chart entails. They cleverly compare the horoscope to a play with the planets as actors, the signs as their roles, the houses as stages of life, and the aspects as how the players interact with one another. Keywords for Astrology is more than just a simple reference list of astrological terms. It explains all the essential configurations in a horoscope, offering a remarkably straightforward method for using keywords to interpret the correspondences of the planets, zodiac signs, cardinal axes, houses, and aspects. It weaves together the relationships between each of these elements and then expands on them by highlighting harmonious and discordant qualities. The interpretations readily apply to natal placement as well as transiting influence. This approach allows new perspectives and insights to emerge in your interpretations. Banzhaf and Haebler combine their vast knowledge with humor and compassion, making this book a pleasure to read, and a must-have reference for your astrological library. First published by Weiser Books in 1996, this new edition includes a foreword by Theresa Reed, author of Astrology for Real Life: A Workbook for Beginners.

"A practical and in-depth manual on integrating Thelemic spiritual principles into daily life by a prominent writer and teacher of the occult and the work of Aleister Crowley. In The Way of the Will, David Shoemaker explores how the spiritual discipline of Thelema, founded by Aleister Crowley (1875-1947), can be utilized to enhance your psychological and spiritual growth. The book grew out of the author's own teaching and experience-podcast episodes, classes, and of course, many years of personal practice and supervision of other initiates. It is a compendium of useful tools and perspectives designed to serve as one of many useful guides in the magician's library. Part one of the book, "Thelema and the Life Within," reflects on the ways your inner experience can be enhanced by tools such as the Qabalistic Tree of Life, Qabalistic psychology, and the symbolic world of astrology. In part two, "Thelemic Practice in Detail," several important (but rarely discussed) libers in the Thelemic corpus are reviewed, with an eye toward strengthening the use of these powerful practices with no-nonsense advice. Tips are shared for constructing powerful, customized magical invocations and coping with the inevitable ordeals that can impact you along the path of your Great Work. Part two will also examine the deeper, personal magick accessible via attendance of the Gnostic Mass and the ways the symbolic frameworks of the original Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn can be (and have been) adapted to express and enhance Thelemic principles and practices. Part three, "Thelema in the Wider World," reviews the ways in which the Thelemic path can inform your health, your creativity, your sense of connectedness and meaning, and your experience of the nature of life itself. Various opportunities for community engagement and training in Thelemic magick and mysticism that exist in today's world are explored, as well as the ways in which these have evolved since Crowley's time. David also offers a personal memoir of his own path toward awareness of True Will, including his experience of the "Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel"-the term often used by Crowley to describe the pivotal spiritual awakening potentially available to every human being. "A richly rewarding guide into a world filled with spirits, communion with the land, and a greater sense of belonging in the world. At the root of most spiritual traditions is the aspiration to realize one's birthright: the intimate connection with the land and the spiritual energies that inhabit it. This connection with the land and its spirits is perhaps nowhere more powerfully felt than in the various traditions of paganism and witchcraft. But the conditions of modern society strain that relationship, leaving us feeling disconnected to our craft and unable to feel that deep and vital connection. In Alive with Spirits, which is based on Althaea Sebastiani's popular online course, you'll discover a path to fully embrace a world filled with spirits, communion with the land, and a greater sense of belonging in the world-a worldview known as animism. You'll explore animism in a hands-on way that teaches through firsthand direct experiences. Through embodied exercises based in wholeness, you'll learn to see the world more fully for what it is and to better understand your place in it. You'll be invited to: Learn the three general types of local spirits and the breadth of variety that exists among them Explore the importance of relationships and what it means to be in community Uncover the way that the wholeness of the world is reflected in the wholeness of the self How to nurture right relationships with your local spirits Alive with Spirits will provide you with a firm foundation from which to transform your witchcraft practice, rooting it into the land and in strong, respectful relationships with the spirits around you"--

Within these pages, you will meet great goddesses such as Brigid, the Morrigan, Sulis, Rosmerta, Elen of the Ways, and Rhiannon, as well as faery women like Melusine and Morgan Le Fae. The book explores the identity of King Arthur's Lady of the Lake, as well as other Lake Ladies. The book shines a spotlight on the most prominent Celtic female divinities but also includes a section devoted to lesser-known goddesses of the Celtic world, such as the mysterious Nehalennia, who was nearly lost before her shrine was recovered from the depths of the North Sea. A practical guide to working with these sacred beings, the book includes exercises for celebrating, honoring, invoking, and serving them. Author Annwyn Avalon provides chants, rituals, spells, and meditations. The reader will learn how to build altars, craft charms, and actively invoke these Celtic goddesses so that they become a living, vital presence in one's own spiritual life. A central text of occult literature, now in a deluxe Weiser Ankh hardcover edition with new ancillary material (a new introduction, corrections to the text, appendices, and other enhancements) by renowned scholar Joseph Peterson. Three-piece quarter binding with black cloth spine and blue cloth over heavy boards Gold and black foil stamping on case with blind frame, front and back; gold stamping on spine Headbands, ribbon marker, and marbled endpapers Printed on quality, archival (acid-free), 55# natural-colored paper, with sewn signatures and reinforced spine "This book is not just a fancier version of the older edition. Anyone interested in Renaissance magic or Enochian magic will want this on their shelf." --Jason Miller, author of Consorting with Spirits and other books and courses Mysteriorum Libri Quinque--the Five Books of Mysteries--written by John Dee in the 16th century, remains to this day one of the most important core texts of occult literature and a comprehensive guide to Enochian magic, encompassing language, symbolism, rituals, and practical techniques. This deluxe Weiser Ankh edition is a compilation of John Dee's secret spiritual treatises and was prepared from the original manuscript (preserved in the British Library) in Dee's own handwriting. These secret writings were discovered long after John Dee's death (c. 1609); they had been tucked away in a hidden compartment of an old wooden chest and were remarkably spared from destruction--uncovered only a few years before the Great Fire of London in 1666. In these five secret treatises, John Dee, one of the most renowned scholars of the Elizabethan era, records in minute detail his research into the occult. Throughout his life, Dee had kept concealed his writings on the nature of humankind's contact with angelic realms and languages. In this comprehensive work, Joseph Peterson presents a brief biography of John Dee, detailing his work in astronomy, mathematics, navigation, the arts, astrology, and the occult sciences, and calling him a "true Renaissance man." Although this present work is concerned primarily with Dee's occult experiments, through it, we catch many glimpses of Elizabethan life and politics. Mysteriorum Libri Quinque presents Dee's main achievement: five books, revealed and transcribed between 1581 and 1583, detailing his system for communicating with the angels and bringing to light mysteries and truths that scholars and adepts have been struggling to understand and use ever since. While Dee's influence was certainly felt in his lifetime, his popularity has grown tremendously since. His Enochian system was used and adapted by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and subsequently by Aleister Crowley. First published by Weiser Books in 2003 as John Dee's Five Books of Mystery: Original Sourcebook of Enochian Magic, this new deluxe Weiser Ankh edition has been extensively updated and expanded. It includes new commentary that reflects twenty years of research by editor Joseph Peterson, corrections to the text based on a review of high-resolution scans of the original manuscripts only recently made available by the British Library, new appendices reflecting more recent scholarship, and translations of the many Latin passages and extensive footnotes, making this work more accessible to readers.
