Get Ready to Feel More Joy! Within the pages of this transformational book, Mike Aubé reveals how joy can be a sustainable state of being, not something that comes and goes with the tides of circumstance. By choosing to nurture the joy at your core rather than 'pursuing happiness', you can come to know the divine, deep happiness that is your birthright. In his late 30s, after more than a decade of feeling lost, Mike got sick and tired of being depressed. And he made a choice. He chose to never wallow in depression again. For several years, it worked but he was just OK. Then he realized, if he could choose to be OK, couldn't he also choose joy? Since then, he has devoted himself to studying how we can choose to be more joyful and support ourselves in order to make that decision stick. In Core Joy, Mike proposes that through gratitude, mindfulness, making healthy secondary choices, and embracing archetypal paths to joy, we can cultivate a core joy that is always available to us, even when inevitable challenges and difficult emotions come our way. By embarking on your own journey to a strong core of inner happiness, you will realize your own divine nature and perhaps even know a peace greater than you ever imagined. You will live more centred in the present moment, awaken to a sense of vibrancy and bring the joy, every day!

I thought winning the lottery would be a dream come true. Now, I'm not so sure. Up until last weekend, the entire focus of my twelve-year-old existence was soccer, school, and playing pranks on my sister, Maeve. (It's not my fault she's afraid of spiders!) Then my teacher's assignment shifts that focus to what everyone else has been talking about-the biggest lottery, ever. The chance of winning it is one in eleventy billion. (So, you know, practically impossible.) But...we do. Thanks to a ticket I beg my dad to buy. You'd think that would be the beginning of a fantastic, fun-filled story. Well, there's tons of fun, don't worry! But there's also drama-intrusive (that means nosy) reporters, greedy family members, equally greedy classmates...you get the gist. Add in a wannabe-influencer sister, my parents who never wanted to win in the first place, and a bunch of really strange situations that never would have happened to us before... and that's basically my new life. A dream come true, yes. But, also, maybe a nightmare? Things will get better. Right? Right!? Guess you'll have to read to find out! That Weekend We Were Millionaires is a story about family, winning the impossible, and the things that truly matter. Join Ben and his family on their unexpected adventure-the perfect read for big kids with really big daydreams!

During a time of division within the Black community, the traditional Black Church was suffering great tests and challenges, as the Nation of Islam was shaking the foundational beliefs of many local churchgoers. Even more so, many within the Black community who were dealing with racism were sick and tired of the oppression they were facing. These were the days of the Rodney King beating, and the Nation of Islam was a very attractive option to suffering Black America. However, the traditional roots of African Americans were rooted in the Black Church. In this work, Dr. Wade exposes the inconsistencies and fallacies of the doctrine of the Nation of Islam and even more so, gives a theological treatise and defense for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the Holy Bible. This work is an excellent resource for even today's new Black religious movements that deny the deity of Jesus Christ. In this collection of sermons, you will find the challenges and opportunities Dr. Wade presents to Black America, especially.

The young mother gazes contentedly at her newborn son as he takes his first meal at her breast. The long day of traveling has taken its toll on her. As she looks up, her eyes meet those of her loving husband. He has been such a source of strength for her during the last months. Brilliant starlight streams through a chink in the rustic stable roof illuminating the beautiful baby as he stops suckling for a moment and looks up at his mother's tender smile. Mary treasures that moment and will remember it 33 years later when that dear Son is suffering on a cruel Roman cross. Breastfeeding was God's idea. He perfectly designed mothers to supply all of their babies' nutritional needs for the first few months of life. Although many how-to books exist to help nursing mothers, this is the first book to take a faith-based approach to every aspect of breastfeeding education and support. The author writes from her 27 years of experience as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant working in both the United States and South America. As a pastor's wife she brings a deep understanding of the Scriptural basis for breastfeeding, and as a lactation expert, she adds a thorough knowledge of breastfeeding basics, problems and solutions. Each chapter begins with a key verse followed by a relatable story from a real-life mother. Useful tips abound for everything from prenatal preparation to first feed to weaning and relactation. Mothers who face special challenges will appreciate the chapter devoted to their situation. A chapter specifically for Dad as well as one written to the grandmother make this book even more unique among breastfeeding manuals. The final chapter focuses on the keys that help a mother be truly outstanding: unconditional love, a lifelong relationship of trust, and unceasing prayer for your child.

Among Angela Carter's assortment of essays, novels, and short stories, critics have heralded The Bloody Chamber as a collection that is often resistant to patriarchal power while also indulging in both the macabre, and the opulent. Furthermore, the collection itself is often described as a space that, "deliberately defeats the reader's expectations by emancipating women's bodies from attributions of cultural shame, empowering women characters with independence and agency, and bitterly denouncing the arrogant cruelty of human predators" (Henke 48). Despite being touted as a feminist, Carter also received heavy backlash, as she eventually confessed that her short stories were often riddled with too much violence. In 1969, Carter won the Somerset Maugham award, and afterwards, lived in Japan for three years. As an expatriate, she studied Japanese manga and anime, with a focus on the masochism and sadism embedded within the comics (Barker 2). These observations and themes of masochism and sadism eventually threaded into her own fiction, and have roused interest and critique within several feminist communities.
