"Like walking through the most colorful of dreamscape you hope to remember upon waking." --Z.W. Mohr, Author of the Desdemona's Dreams SeriesFrom the author of The Axeboy's Blues and Spectacle of the Extension comes this wondrous collection of short stories and poetry centered around dreams and the subconscious. Travel through dreams, through time, talking to crotchety old frogs and majestic trees. Discard worlds and personalities only to don the next in a series of tales each possessing its own flavor of dream logic.--poem from the back cover--It was at the edge of the worldI found her-lavender twisted into her hair, sitting on an old dock. I joined her in the silence, gazing out over the edge.We watched the massive whirlpool, a churning cone of idea & dream, reverie & nightmare, as it twisted & spat pieces ofdream into the air-which we watched fly over our heads like airplanes or gulls, heading back towards the world whence they came, these visions from the dream gyre.
Set in South Australia, 1884; this is the story of three Afghan cameleers as they go about delivering supplies along the Birdsville Track. Follow Nak, Shir and Abdul on an adventure across outback Australia, where their pasts catch up to them in many ways. Individual feelings are tested to the limit, insecurities are measured by fear, and desire is outweighed by need. Angry and forgiving, tired and alive, eager and pessimistic. They fight against the conditions, against the hate, and against their pasts. It is a work of fiction, based on the people of the times, where prejudice is very much alive, many Afghans being treated poorly, not just for the colour of their skin, or their religious belief, but because of the expertise that the Afghan cameleers offer the Australian outback, taking work from many Australians. This story offers an in-depth look at the life of cameleers and the issues surrounding camel strings, shedding a great amount of light on the subject of camels in the outback, opening the eyes of the reader as to the great work that camel strings performed during this time of expansion.Camels were able to out-work bullock teams and horses due to their abilities to adjust to a harsh land, and the cameleers were of no exception.

This little book is filled with bite-sized bits of confidence-building encouragement based on your identity in Christ. The devotions, stories, and Scriptures you'll encounter are all intended to point you to the reality of who you are in God's eyes. My prayer is that you come away inspired, that you stand a little taller, hold your head a smidgen higher, walk with a new spring in your step, and begin to face life head-on, armed with the knowledge of your blessed identity. It's time to put aside your doubts and insecurities and to now live a life full of God-based confidence. "Confidence and Crowns" is a devotional adaptation of my Bible Study workbook, "A Daughter of the King: Gaining Confidence as a Child of God." It delivers the same powerful message, but without the homework. You are loved, you are forgiven and new, you belong and matter, you are beautiful and strong, you have purpose on earth and in the Kingdom of God. You are royalty. You are a daughter of the King. You are a child of God. It's time to live like you believe it!
Jesus died and rose again to give us so much more than most of us have ever known. For whatever reason, through either religious tradition or incomplete teaching, our adversary has kept us from experiencing and walking in all that Jesus came to give us.My prayer is that as you read this book with an open heart and mind, the Holy Spirit will help you discover your full inheritance through the finished work of Jesus on the cross. Many have settled for living a so-so Christian life, but our heavenly Father wants so much more for us than that. Being the good, good Father that He is, He desires that we live and enjoy the Sozo Life.

"William Faulkner, Thomas Pynchon, John Ashbery, Virginia Woolf, David Foster Wallace-all are fascinating writers but hard to follow. M. Price's PLEASE FEEL BAD I'M DEAD feels like a candidate for this abstruse club." - IndieReader "The book is a whirlwind experience of an imploding mind...PLEASE FEEL BAD I'M DEAD by M. Price invites the reader to explore in-between spaces. The often blurred lines of sanity and illness, the void of daily dialogues, the societal gaps which engulf misfits, and whatever lies between life and death." - Bestsellers World Jhaegar Holdburn is a forlorn teenage edgelord who constantly attempts suicide and finds himself continually failing due to last second blunders. His desire for death comes from his often frazzled, often incoherent mind and how it fuels the way he's ostracized by his peers as well as how he's been made a pariah in the current social climate. At last the opportunity arises, Jhaegar manages to commit suicide using a foolproof method, and after years of despair he finally dies... But not quite... Jhaegar is instead resurrected...as he will always be resurrected. He finds the one thing standing in the way of sweet death is his uncanny inability to truly die and that his suicides result in increasingly stranger and psychedelic realities, irreversibly made worse by his ever deteriorating mind. He discovers the only way to break this cycle of death and rebirth is to uncover the real root of his problems and find his own personal sense of happiness, as well as to unravel the esoteric tangle of his own repressed psyche. But, with his grasp of reality slipping away by the minute, will Jhaegar have time to save himself from his own self-destruction?

Have tissues ready>An excerpt from the story"Did you see the outfit Ashley was wearing today? It looked like she needed a shoehorn to get it on." Seventeen-year-old Lauren said and started to laugh.Everyone at the table started laughing, too."I know, I don't know why she doesn't go on a diet. Why would she let herself get that fat?" I mean, just stop eating already, right?" Miranda said, shrugging her shoulders.Jaycee rubbed her hands together. "She'd have more friends if she didn't look like such a pig, right? Like, who wants to be seen with her when they go out places? It's like embarrassing and all. I know I would be anyway, I don't know about you guys."Rebecca had had enough. "Guys, listen to me, she has a medical problem and has to take medication. The medication saves her life, but it causes her to gain weight. She eats no more food than you or I and she tries to exercise more than we do. She can't help it. We should be her friend and give her support and encouragement, not be her enemies and talk mean and cruel behind her back.Jaycee cocked her head to one side. "She really can't help it and doesn't eat a lot?""NO, she doesn't. She really can't help it.""Oh man, that's tough. I feel bad I came down so rough and judgmental on her." Jaycee said, furrowing her eyebrows.Lauren looked down at the table. "I guess my comment was really mean. I shouldn't have said it."Miranda looked around the table and then stared down at her hands. "I guess I should be more embarrassed at my comment than being embarrassed by being seen with her. I'm awful, I guess."Jaycee looked across the room. "Hey look, she just came into the lunchroom and is sitting over there. Why don't we invite her to sit with us?"Rebecca smiled and stood up. "I will go and get her."

We all experience some comfort on the journey when not travelling alone. The comfort is even more remarkable when our company has been there and done that. We all need someone else to come alongside us to guide us into the destiny we sense deep within. Moses, sensing the magnitude of the challenges ahead, knew this and invited Hobab to come with him on the exodus from Egypt. Hobab knew the way and was accustomed to the wilderness. Mentorship is about having a helper in our journey in life, love and leadership. To the mentor, it is an attempt to pass down the experience, wisdom and legacy to the next generation. It is indeed a noble endeavour, yet things often go dreadfully wrong. This book hopes to prevent some of these shipwrecks. It is an attempt to bare our hearts, from our unique perspectives, about the pitfalls of mentorship.
