Jason Kingsley is treasurer of a billion-dollar patent medicine corporation that requires its officers to be married. Jason claims his wife has a rare disease that prevents her from entertaining or attending corporate functions. A cure is accidentally discovered in one of the company's patent medicines, and Jason's ecstatic boss is arriving any minute with the company doctor to administer the cure and then bask in the publicity. Jason, however, doesn't really have a wife, so he cons his fiancée Nicki into pretending to be invalid. Other imposters appear: Poopsie Magruder, who initially refused, shows up anyhow, and Vonga the Jungle Girl was pressed into service by the helpful housekeeper. The cure involves a two-inch needle in the armpit, and it develops that the disease is contagious, which only complicates the hilarity.

The runaway hit, based on Moliere's 17th century French comedy that originally took place in Naples, Italy has been rewritten and re-imagined by Broadway veteran Jeffrey Binder as a mafia comedy now set in the "dangerous streets" of sunny Naples, Fla. This physical comedy is a blend of slapstick and doubletalk, combined with a hysterical mix of political comedy and all-around satire. In this modern take, the dons of two notorious mob families agree to avert a war between their families by marrying off their children. Except (whoops!) one of their kids has already secretly married the woman of his dreams and enlists the mob's crafty but disgraced consigliere, Scapino, to get them out of this deadly jam and reconcile the two families before they all whack each other. Hilarity ensues.

Though some liberties are taken in bringing nine diverse personalities together on the night that most of them would perish, their individual stories are accurate and have long since become legends, if only to their own families.

One of Manhattan's most established play festivals, the Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival fosters the work of emerging writers, giving them the exposure of publication and representation.The festival resulting in this collection was held August 8-12, 2017 at the Classic Stage Company in New York City.From the initial pool of over 1000 submissions, the final thirty plays were chosen to be performed over a period of one week. A panel of judges comprised of celebrity playwrights, theatrical journalists, and artistic directors nominated one or more of each evening's plays as finalists. The final round was then held on the last day of the festival. During a campaign in the Middle East, six men are lost in the Syrian desert, owing to the breakdown of their tank. They are Ben Joseph, the thoughtful Jewish sergeant; Donnington, a university man and a cynic; the Cockney, Elvin, an old soldier; Shaw, a solemn Yorkshireman; Hughes, an excitable Welshman; and young George, from a farm. A German plane spots them and sprays them with its machine-gun, wounding George, who has a premonition of death. As they sleep, the centuries roll back to 703 BC and we see the same men forming a caravan taking on different roles. We return to the present, the wounded George and a final reckoning.|6 men
