The Book of Bamidbar is the fourth book of the Five Books of Moses. Volume 8 of Path to the Light includes Rav Berg's commentary on the portions of: Bamidbar, Naso, Beha'alotcha, Shlach Lecha, and Korach. These portions are not the intrigues of a nation, but instead describe the energetic machinations of the physical world: how, where, and when to capture energy; how to navigate and transform darkness into Light; how to protect ourselves from danger as well as know where it lurks; and ultimately how to garner the force to win the ultimate war against our own limitations and self-destructive temptations. Rav Berg tells us again and again that the Bible is not a history book nor is it an allegory of our lives; the Torah is an arsenal of spiritual tools: specific letters and sequences that provide us with the spiritual energy to fortify and strengthen our spiritual work in this dimension of life. This understanding and wisdom about the metaphysical nature of the universe was once only known by a few kabbalist throughout history. Now, because of the efforts and teachings of Rav Berg--as he removes the covering that kept the Bible and its tools concealed for centuries--each and every person can fulfill their destiny and achieve a life of happiness and mastery over the physical terrain.

On a literal story level, the Book of Vayikra reveals the laws of living a pure and holy life. We read about the building of a Tabernacle in the wilderness, the different sacrificial offerings; the Priestly garments and roles, knowing what to eat and what is unfit; and what relationships are forbidden. The holidays of Passover, Shavuot, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot are also mentioned, as is the Jubilee Year, the Shabbat, and the Sabbatical Year. However, Rav Berg reminds us that the purpose of the Bible is not religion, instead the Bible is a code that describes the spiritual machinations of this physical world. He says: "The essential reason of sacrifice is not to appease God but to cleanse ourselves; to clean ourselves of corrupted DNA that we brought upon ourselves."

The Book of Shemot is traditionally known as the adventures and history of the Israelites as they are led by Moses in the wilderness after the exodus from Egypt. Volume 6 contains the accounts of the giving of the biblical laws on Mount Sinai and the dramatic moment as the Israelites fell in the creation of the golden calf, as well as raising of funds and the construction of the Tabernacle and the design of the clothing donned by the High Priest is also mentioned. Although this storyline may seem irrelevant today, Rav Berg spares no detail as he enlightens us about our soul's journey through physical existence and the concealed treasures available to all of humanity in the Book of Shemot. He explains that the Hebrew word Shemot means "names" not "exodus," as is commonly understood, and that many Names of the Creator, including the 72 Names of God are found throughout the Book of Shemot. These Names are aspects of energy emanating from the Lightforce of God, which are meant to support us when we face challenges in our own lives.

Path to the Light, Shemot, Volume 5, contains Rav Berg's commentary gathered from 30 years of discourses on the portions Shemot, Va'era, Bo, and Beshalach. Within these pages the reader will be guided not only on the journey of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt, through the wilderness but more importantly on the passage of the human soul. Though we may be familiar with the highlights of this story, the kabbalistic explanation of what is available for us from these sections of the Bible are far from a history lesson. The Rav answers questions such as: What is the process a soul goes through as it traverses this physical plane? Why is there chaos and wickedness around us and how can we protect ourselves from it? The Creator pledged to the Israelites and to all of humanity for all time, "You are not here alone." The purpose of the desert is to give us the space to develop a true love between us and the Creator, through the lessons we learn on our way.
