Little Scarlet Robin is a series of children's book set on Kangaroo Island. The main character is a scarlet robin, a small bird with a curious mind, who finds adventure and learns about the incredible biodiversity and history of the island Little Scarlet Robin - Wetlands takes place in a storm which blows little Scarlet Robin to Pelican Lagoon, a magical wetlands rich in biodiversity. There he meets a Heron who introduces him to the Swans and other birds who help him get back to Cape Willoughby.The book series highlight the unique biodiversity and history of the island using hand drawn watercolour images and special rhythmical stories of the unique fauna and flora as well as history of shipwrecks on the island.Kangaroo Island has incredible wildlife, which includes Sea Lions, Hooded Plovers, incredible diversity of insects, Echidnas, Tamar Wallabies, Glossy Black Cockatoos and much much more.It is a very special place which needs protecting especially after the 2020 bushfires which devastated the island.Lesson plans and other resources will be available in January for the 2024 school year.
