In the fall of 1979, Vickie and Dave Case set out from San Francisco in a 29' sailboat built from a semi-kit. They harbor hopped down the coast to Manzanillo, Mexico before bravely heading the 2700 miles over open ocean to the Marquesas. Using a compass, sextant, and sumlog they covered the distance in twenty-two days. Then it was off to Tahiti, the Society Islands, Rarotonga, and Pago Pago, before heading back through Honolulu, then more excitement sailing home to San Francisco. The sailing was very primitive by today's standards. Weather and mechanical problems were a constant challenge. The people met along the way made it all worthwhile.
The word reminds us that as we walk upright before God, that no good thing will be withheld from us. (Ps 84:11) He orders the steps and the stops of a righteous man. (Ps.37:23) If we are willing and obedient, we will eat the best of the land. (Isaiah 1:19). There are so many promises in the word of God concerning all mankind. God sent His Son Jesus to die for the world, and that includes you. (John 3:16,17). I pray that as you read this book, your heart will be receptive and sensitive to God as He touches your heart. He loves you with a love that is everlasting. There is no greater love. (John 15:13) Yes. Jesus did that for you and me! This whole matter of maturing and growing up in Christ is crucial to us fulfilling our purpose in the earth. Let us begin to move forward in Him and His plans for our lives as we determine to Walk In His Righteousness. (His Way Of Doing and Thinking)With much love and peaceTanya Y. Boonei

This book is about identifying the people of God and questioning whether the word "e;church"e; correctly describes them. The religious landscape in America is filled with different churches hoping to build their membership. They all have requirements that are expected in order to be in good standing with the organization. Is this scene found in the Bible? If not, what has happened historically that produced what we have, today? In answering this question, we explore the translation of the Greek word from which "e;church"e; is translated and distinguish it from the denominations/churches with the unique facets of their own tradition. Our purpose is to challenge the reader to review their own traditions in light of the Biblical description. Definitions are critical in any study and this one requires an understanding of terms before we are able to make any true comparisons. But, more importantly, we are very interested in pointing out how the Greek word "e;ekklesia"e; is used in the contexts of Scripture. It is believed that the interaction of early Christians looked very different that they do today. Did they form themselves into an organization that owns property with hours of operation posted on it? Does this arrangement that hires men and women to perform certain tasks, such as preaching in their pulpits, describe the work of the early church? If not, where does that practice originate? Our goal in answering these questions is to demonstrate a pattern in the Scriptures that reveal a very simple way of life among the people of God and present some historical events that we believe developed the Christianity that we know, today. I recognize that in publishing this book, I risk the support and fellowship of dear friends. I only pray that all readers carefully study the material.
It was a cold day in December. But unknown to many, the chaos were boiling beneath the tracks. This day was like any other day, people commuting from the city, from places as far as Albany and New Jersey and Washington DC, but mostly from the five boroughs where most businesses were getting ready for another day, cursing the MTA for them getting to work late and flipping on the news as they get home. Hey, if they were late for work cause of track work, well, that's a part of living in the city. But if they were late 'cause someone decided to end it all that day, you might start to feel a little guilty for the way you were cursing out the MTA and start to gain a little gratitude for what you have. This is where twelve strangers come together and begin a new life--something that happens once in a lifetime.
