Since ancient times man has sought to understand the origins of the universe around him, and his place within it. Such speculations were once the sole purview of religion, but since the Enlightenment, science and rationality have also attempted to explain these mysteries, but from an opposing perspective. Conflict resulted and both sides dug in, clinging to dogmas that precluded any consideration of the other side."Genesis, Zen and Quantum Physics" enters the fray with a very unique approach. Believing that harmony, rather than conflict, defines the relationship between the Genesis account and modern science; the authors have retranslated the creation story according to the ancient Hebrew pictographic language and in the context of the nomadic culture from which the language and narratives arose. The resulting translation and its accompanying commentary challenge the common understanding of God, science, and the very reason for man's existence. By harmonizing an accurate biblical account with cutting edge scientific understanding, the authors present a mature religious ideal and an appreciation for the understanding of the ancients for modern scientific concepts. This is a book that will redefine your understanding of God, the world around you and your role within it.

Modern Manufacturing Methodologies have undergone three different evolutionary stages over the past 200 years. Before there were modern manufacturing plants, the world only knew skilled craftsmen who labored as individuals in very small groups to produce goods and services. The first factory evolution came about when James Watt invented the steam engine. Metal cutting, forming and assembly machines were co-located near streams or rivers forming what we now call the Job Shop or the American Armory System. The second factory evolution began when Henry Ford introduced the first modern assembly line using interchangeable parts and standardized manufacturing procedures. This gave rise to the modern flow shop, which reached its zenith during WWII. In the late 1970s, the third industrial evolution began when Taiichi Ohno and the Toyota Motor Company introduced what we now call Lean Manufacturing...and the world came. Over the last 40 years, all forms of manufacturing and service systems have embraced the concepts of Lean Thinking and proved its superiority to traditional manufacturing and service systems design. This book defines and characterizes a new breed of Manufacturing Engineer which we call the Lean Engineer. The Lean Engineer has roots in traditional Industrial engineering, but is also well trained in six-sigma methodologies and understands lean to green factory design principles. However, Lean Engineering transcends and redefines the classic Industrial engineer. Principles of Lean systems design, U-shaped Lean manufacturing cells, Linked Cell Manufacturing System design and Mixed Model final assembly lines are unique Lean Engineering strategies. This book attempts to define for the first time a new manufacturing engineering discipline called the Lean Engineer. This book: ¿ Introduces Lean System Design principles ¿ Demonstrates the conversion of traditional manufacturing lines into U-shaped Lean Cells ¿ Contrasts push versus pull manufacturing strategies ¿ Covers Balancing, Leveling and System synchronization ¿ Demonstrates Value Stream Mapping and the 7-Lean analysis tools ¿ Provides an introduction to Queuing Network Analysis for single and multiple product flows ....and many more Principles which define the Lean Engineer

  • - An American Manifesto

The message of "We Still Hold These Truths" is even more urgent now than when it was written in 2004. Goaded by Republican demagoguery and caught in an economic malaise, a fierce anger has arisen among much of the public against the Democrat's progressive agenda, encouraging radical Republicans in Congress and state legislatures to destroy vital progressive programs implemented by government during the past 100 years. As the 2012 elections approach, our nation once again stands at a crossroad. The issue is not simply big versus small government, high versus low taxes. The radical Republican conservative movement seeks to fundamentally alter the balance that our nation has historically struck between private rights, the public good, and government. At risk is the American social contract. At risk are America's middle class, the poor, and the environment. To win in 2012, the Democrats must get out from under the negative Republican spin. They must counter the climate of fear and anger by communicating their policies more effectively in a way the average voter gets. And they must label the Republicans for what they are ... hypocrites masquerading as the party of the people. Using the Declaration of Independence as a touchstone, "We Still Hold These Truths" examines nine key areas of government policy to define "an American manifesto," a context for Democratic policies that will resonate with mainstream America. In so doing, it shows why it is Democrats who are the party of the people, the party of America's historic values. .

You won't like this book... why? Because it's full of my personal views on religion, politics, and deceit. I'm politically incorrect and biased in my opinions and I'm certain you will not agree with hardly anything I've written... But I have to tell the truth, as I see it. I'm sure Queen Elizabeth, Paul McCartney, Harry Truman, King David, Mickey Mantle, and others will understand and be forgiving of my thoughts on their lives.
