In his new offering, author Marc Rivera explores how friendships can be made in the most unexpected circumstances. All children, whether on the spectrum or not, will benefit from his delightful tale of "Once Upon A Dog."
The themes are universal - love, loss, resistance, hope. The voice is distinctly Caribbean. The result is a soulful collection laced with power. These poems reflect the writer's deep engagement with her society and her skill in peeling away its layers to expose the core. This is a distillation of everyday human experience, related in language that ranges from stark simplicity to intricate imagery. Throughout the entire book, the poet's touch is delicate but sure.
Crisis of Discipleship analyzes the causes of the current decline of Christian faith in the West and proposes a response by faith communities that is both Biblical and grounded in historic Christian faith.
The Book of Revelation is the only book in the New Testament that is almost entirely devoted to prophecy. It was written by the Apostle John to tell us how this current Church Age will end. The Book of Revelation is complex and mysterious, and can only be understood by carefully studying the scriptures with the help of the Holy Spirit. After 40 years of teaching and studying the New Testament Book of Revelation and the Old Testament Book of Daniel, I began to question the scriptural validity and the theology underlying the different Rapture positions which are being taught in seminary programs and by prophecy scholars. After carefully examining and comparing different teachings on the Rapture and Resurrection of all true believers (Pre-Tribulation, Mid-Tribulation, Post-Tribulation and Pre-Wrath), there were difficulties and inconsistencies which could not be ignored. After years of research, a new Rapture Position was developed which seemed to solve all theological and scriptural issues. The result was a new Pre-Wrath Rapture. The Pre-Wrath Rapture Theory presented in this book is proposed which eliminates the weakness of both a Pre-Tribulation Rapture or a Classic Pre-Wrath Rapture. These conclusions are based upon extensive scriptural justification. A major contribution is to examine the relationship between Jewish and Christian perspectives and beliefs concerning forgiveness of sins and redemption in Jesus Christ. This book will:¿ Show the correct relationship between the 7 Seals, the 7 Trumpets in the Book of Revelation¿ Distinguish between the Wrath of Satan and the Wrath of God ¿ Compare Jewish Messianic Expectations to Christian Beliefs¿ Propose a new Pre-Wrath Rapture Theory¿ Show that the Rapture of the Ecclesia will occur as the 7th Trump Sounds

How liberating would it be to shed all false identities that we or others have placed on ourselves? Claiming our true identity as followers of Jesus begins by believing that Jesus really is in us and we are in him. Trying harder gets us nowhere. Waking up to who we already are allows us to see our full status as sons and daughters of God. We discover our true identity by recognizing that the life of Jesus flows deep within each believer's heart. This is God's good work! Our part is tapping into the love that has already been deposited in us. It's time we move away from the mindset of identity groups, pitting people against people, to become one in Christ Jesus! Let's trade the lies for fresh encounters with God.
The twentieth century has witnessed an astonishing number (386 at latest count) reported Apparitions of Our Blessed Mother. The vast majority of these claimed apparitions have yet to be investigated and approved or condemned by the Roman Catholic Church. They normally warn of very dark days ahead and future catastrophes. They appeal for a return to God, with renewed emphasis on prayer, the Rosary, Mass attendance, Penance, Confession, Bible reading, and distributing the messages widely to save those able to believe.Michael, a young, teen-age Seer, experienced visions of the Blessed Virgin Mary and other saints, but did not seem to develop further as a Seer beyond his twenties. His cause was never investigated. It was during this time, the decade of the 1980s when the Cold War had reached its peak and international tensions were quite high (threatening nuclear war), that Michael's Messages were being released to the public. Subsequently, the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, and both the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia disintegrated in the early 1990s, relaxing the previous tensions. There is little doubt that the activities of Michael and many other Seers, known and unknown, contributed greatly to these positive developments. Now, nearly thirty years later, we see international tensions rising again, combined with an economic downturn and a complex pandemic of worldwide proportions. It would be well to revisit the messages of the past for what guidance they can provide, since true messages from Heaven concern both the short-term and long-term future. This volume is derived from the original typed pages mailed out in the 1980s. There is no guarantee they are the complete set. Since selected Litanies and Prayers were also included with Michael's Messages, they are also provided in the second section of this work.

Words of wisdom, humor, and strategy as the author begins his round and tries his best not to bogey too many holes or too many life situations.
I'm a fan of all of David Weiss's novels, but Bookmarks is my favorite. It is his most ambitious story, the one with the widest vision. Mican Reinbow is an engaging character about whom the reader cares deeply. We experience his triumphs and failures, his efforts to overcome the racial disadvantages that might have destroyed or embittered another person. The novelist's passion for equality and social justice is strikingly evident on every page. The novel is tightly constructed, and the many settings are fully realized: Fort Myers, St. Augustine, Savannah, Columbia, and Schenectady. The minor characters are also memorable: Abbey, Grover, Walter, Noah, Mr. Wright, Hopkins, Lucinda, Izzy, Edison, and Steinmetz. In addition, the novel is meticulously researched and informative: I learned so much about nineteenth-century and early-twentieth-century American history, especially Reconstruction and the Jim Crow South. Even the footnotes are fascinating, a treasure trove of knowledge. Bookmarks is a treat, a story about love, loss, and resiliency. -- Dr. Jeffrey Berman Distinguished Professor of English University at Albany-SUNY
Once, in a park, I saw a little girl and her dad playing and laughing as she swung to and fro. I once saw a little boy, with a candy cane smile, ask an old man for a smile. I once climbed a mountain just to see what was on the other side. I once picked a flower and gave it to a friend. These are my moments, my reflections, on how we need to think, write and dream of the joyful and positive sides of life. To dwell on the negative is not a healthy and good way to live. These are choices we all must make and, in that regard, I committed myself to write lines that would not only make me feel good but lines that would help others overcome these most trying of times. The poems in this book reflect the way I chose to endure the COVID pandemic as well as the PTSD syndrome that is brewing as I write these words. It's all about laying strong foundations for building bridges over those valleys of despair that are ingrained in our souls. Make no mistake about it - some days were good and some tore the roof off my head. So, if you have a few moments, feel free to join me on this happiness journey.
For anyone who has ever imagined what it was like to come of age in the World War II Era, this book gives you a bird's-eye view.Gwen MacKenzie, a small-town coed, becomes a reporter and her newspaper sends her on globe-trotting assignments. Simultaneously, she finds herself deeply involved with her friends and neighbors, the Sommers family. Three young members of the family are dragged into the frenzy of war and soon join the fight, leaving behind loved one who must patiently go on ... waiting and wondering. From the Philippines to London and from North Africa to Paris, the reader is transported back into time, where adventure, romance and even tragedy reign supreme."With Hearts of Honor" is loosely based on the true story of a young man who survived the Bataan Death March, only to meet a surprising fate aboard a Japanese Hellship.Readers of this book will laugh and cry as they experience a family's hope, anguish and, ultimately, peace.
THE CRAVING is a legendary adventure adapted from one of our most beloved children's tales, Hansel and Gretel. But this is no children's tale. Set in early fourteenth century Alsace during The Great Famine, when mass suffering and death led many to question their faith, when rampant theft heightened hostility and suspicion, this truly was the breeding ground that gave birth to the legend of the witch. As Guarin struggles to provide for his two starving children, Han and Greta, they are taken from him by force and led on a perilous journey deep into the forest, eventually arriving at the home of The Lady. Han soon suspects she may be harboring sinister intentions and fears the massive kiln lurking within her cellar has a more nefarious purpose: to satisfy some mysterious, inhuman craving building within her.
Fractal is a riveting autobiography of award-winning South African composer Helmut Meijer, as well as an introduction to the Ancient Hebrew language, born after three heart interventions which altered his course of direction.
What begins as a reminiscence viewed from the whimsical vantage of a pyramid in space soon veers off in many directions. The apparent incoherence of the collage of scenes reflects what events have been like since at least the mid-twentieth century. Because of science and the power we've seized or conjured from nature, life on earth has changed wildly in just fourscore and ten years, barely one biblical age from 1945 when the detonation of two atomic bombs ended World War Two.Despite the pervasive reverberation of so many changes, prosy life goes on and the view looking back at the hot blue dot from a tetrahedron lofted into space on a whim can't really be serious, any more than the founding quantum physicists who said a hundred years ago it didn't matter if they couldn't understand the behavior of "e;quanta"e; at the heart of their theory because even if it was the very stuff, the essence, of being, it was not really "e;real."e; No? Then what is it? Does anyone know? If this collage is heading anywhere, it is in the direction of answering that question. Or another quite like it.
