The story of how one duck, Benny, saves the world. Well, at least his family, from the evil duck hunters Corey and Rhona. A story to which gives hope to all of us on how a magic vest (vaccine) can help us all. Benny embarks on an adventure to find a magical vest which will protect his family from the evil duck hunters. The story is full of adventure and excitement but is also educational. It likens Benny as being a hero for his community in much the same way as scientists are becoming the hero of the recent pandemic. It also describes the benefits of our greatly practiced social distancing to that of spreading out and avoiding being shot by the duck shooters. No ducks were harmed in the making of this book.
Have you ever wondered how the things around you got there? We know people begin as tiny babies who grow quickly, and flowers begin as seeds in the ground; with sunlight and water, the seeds become plants. But some things do not grow-things we might use or eat or play with every day. Where do those things come from? A chair, for example, is not grown but built; a cabinetmaker takes wood and cuts it into shapes and nails those together into a chair. But before that, the wood must come from a tree that grew from a seed planted in the ground. We must remember that everything around us was either made or grown, but all of it comes from the earth. How can we give back to the earth that has given us so much?Engaging and insightful, this children's poem tells the story of how a seed grows to become a tree that is eventually cut down to make a chair.
Religion broke my heart. A sectarian evangelical authority tore me away from my spiritual awareness of God, nurtured in childhood wonder by the Australian bush. It landed me in a war zone with my trusted inner self. Evil intruded into my picture of life. Trusted people became predators. I was ambushed by the Deep Sadness. This book is the story of my desperate search for some unknown relief from the grief of rejection, deception and the bullying that is spiritual abuse. When two words shone like a light from the text of the book I was studying for a Master's degree, I was amazed. Enlightenment that required abandonment of current goals, gave wings of hope to my heart for the journey ahead.

When things happen or situations crop up that raise an eyebrow, or cause a smile or simple appreciation, they are often the catalyst for one of Charlie's poems. He finds putting writing them frees his mind to get on with something else.
This book is founded upon the contents of my post doctoral degree dissertation in the field of Theocentric Psychology in a bid to simplify the intricacy of the Bible in a more reader friendly manner. "Discovering the Kingdom Within" is the title that i have specifically chosen for this book in an attempt to illustrate just that. Why? Because many still believe that the Kingdom or to be more precise, "The Kingdom of God" is a physical abode that is situated outside of ourselves and in order to attain it, many penances are to be experienced before an austere deity so that punishment may be avoided. In this book the author has obliterated all biases and prejudices that pertain to religion and has henceforth substituted them with the humble metaphysical teachings of Jesus so that one may discover the "ONENESS" within and in all that is.Based upon this premise, the Kingdom becomes a part of who we are, not something that we ought to anticipate for at the end of our earthly life.
