"HOW DID THIS GET HERE?" This fashionable question made famous in the late eighties was the sole reins for me to start the compilation of poems in this book. I have no idea 'HOW' this got here ... but once it was 'HERE' ... I was determined to make it ... at least ... memorable. There's a little back story to this compendium or my involvement in poetry. Frankly, I'm not truly a fan. Until very recently these flypaper words were just doodles and scribbles on torn paper and tatted notebooks, until a friend read one or two and remarked rather innocuously, if I had any others and wouldn't it be nice if there was a collection of them in one place.Well I have taken her advice and made sort of an anthology of them. They are from different periods of my life, so I hope you will please bear with me. What I knew as a young man, like most things I didn't understand until I was well into my forties. What are the odds of actually writing scribbles and then be fortunate to compile them and have them published? Well this is a chance for my words to have a mouthpiece. Meaning one of you out there. There's nothing better than being part of the echo of that nameless but great representative.
These are a selection of poems by Ayad Gharbawi. Wide-ranging poems in their purview on life and the choices facing Man. Persisting reminders tormenting awash with a dryness hurtful Punctured living watersGruesome mental scars Uncertainties debilitating Dangling insanityNooses chasing each otherThunderously excitingFestering gashesHere between myselfBetween us And so, what you feltOr whatever you feel for meI never fathomed what exactly was it
How can I summarize these poems except to say they represent my innermost thoughts and feelings-an exposure of my soul, if you will. They demonstrate the pain of past years, but suffice to say, that pain also allowed me to develop a sturdiness and doggedness that has served me well. Although it may not be evident, I more than survived and found contentment.I want to tell you that you can too!
Since its first use in the 1960s, the term 'Preferential option for the poor' has never stopped stirring up debates. This book examines its use in theology today. It turns to two contemporary Jesuits: Jon Sobrino (Liberation theologian) and Pope Francis (Representative of the theology of the people). From the comparative analysis of their understanding of the expression and considering new forms of human suffering as well as the sufferings of all of creation nowadays, this book suggests that the 'preferential option for the poor' should be replaced in theology today by 'compassion for the vulnerable'.
Grumble Oink to the little boy, "Can you see me?""Yes," said the little boy.Grumble Oink was so excited to have a friend. "No one is meant to see me. I am invisible and have no smell."
This book of poetry is a doorway to a place of wonder, where the key is the imagination. Walk through the realm of fantasy and the dream world, where the land of make-believe will share its secrets with you.
Walk with the spirit to a place of love. Enter the world of prayer and allow the spirit to embrace your heart and soul.
Ever thought of transforming depression into an ambition? I took that bold step towards the burning issue of the society without evaluating the outcome. This book is about personal encounter towards an unforeseen affair while dealing with trading market, has completely reshaped my life. The irony was, fell for a stranger whom I never met or had a glimps, just spoke. Isn't that bizarre? Reminds me about the perfect phrase "Love is blind". Moreover, the realization of people dealing with depression became stronger when confronted with one myself. Hence took fearless move to reach out to the wider world. However, did ponder about the embarrassing and humiliating state it will put me through. Plenty of question has evolved, daunting my decision and warning regarding the aftermath. Ultimately stood my ground to open up and leave the decision on the readers. Not expecting any empathy but surely appreciation to take such a radical step.
I've been to hell and back, I've dragged hell to it's deepest darkest nightmares to the point of it saying your not welcome here. I don't want you to pick this book up for the sake of it. I want you to pick it up and take it home with you only if you will pay attention. I didn't bring up all of my traumas and nightmares for nothing. I have done so only to help people who have been and who currently are in the places and situations I've horribly found myself in. Welcome to my World of Autism, Welcome to my struggles with ADHD (Attention Deficit HyperActivity Disorder.) See how Bipolar affects me, look into the effects Depression and Anxiety have on the human mind. All of this might well seem like a lot, but really it's not. But above all remember this was done to try and let people know that life is in fact a bitch of a struggle. Not only that, but to make people aware that you can get through life's struggles in the very world we live in.
Parkinson's disease is a debilitating, degenerative, life-changing condition with no cure.Poetry is a powerful tool for people to express their deepest emotions. This is particularly good for people with disabilities who may not have any other way of expressing themselves. It can be a great release to let out all their pent-up feelings. The poems in this book will take you on a journey into the physical and emotional challenges faced by people struggling to come to terms with this terrible illness, starting from the day they are first diagnosed. Some of the poems are a bit more lighthearted to show that we are not just defined by our condition. The aim of this book is to give a better understanding and awareness of the many facets of this complex condition and the struggles faced on a daily basis by all those affected. Hopefully, it will also raise some much-needed funds for Parkinson's UK.All profits from the sale of this book will be going to Parkinson's UK.You can't take my heart, you can't take my soulWhatever the agony, whatever the tollI won't let you beat me, I won't let you winI won't stop fighting, I will never give in

"Feelings in the Shadow" is a romance-fantasy that unfolds the drama of Peter Pan trapped in an unfair, modern-age, dystopia of Neverland, diminished into a circus of infamous and spoilt artists, who are slowly turned into the best-selling marketing tools.Talented yet penniless writer, Peter works as an acrobat at Neverland Circus, managedby the chief clown, Mr. Smee, and owned by the billionaire advertiser Sir James Hook, now Wendy's husband.Narrated through the eyes of the first actress that ever-played Peter Pan, "Feelings in the Shadow" unveils the darkest sides of Peter Pan's original script, its alternative ending, and above all its drastic changes before its first appearance at the Duke of York Theatre on the 28th December 1904.
In the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, when the debate about same-sex marriage was active and leading to legislation, my wife and I followed the news avidly but with only one thought-same-sex marriage is wrong. As Christians, we believed in our marriage in church and in the vows taken. We could accept differences, and to us, the acts of civil union seemed to give same-sex couples an identity and a protection from abuse, which they were entitled to. When these acts were passed, it was not enough. Laws were passed to allow same-sex marriage, which to us, compounded the position. The element of same-sex couples denying their sexuality by contriving to become parents by utilizing, in some way, the services of the opposite sex seemed totally against the law of nature and the very sexuality that gays and lesbians had wanted legalized in the first place.Laws may be passed, but it does not mean that Christians and churches have to accept these laws as being scriptural and Christian. There is nothing in the Bible that supports same-sex marriage, yet general assemblies of denominations have approved same-sex marriage-often without the approval of individual congregations. This cannot be right in principle or practice.Sadly, my wife died in September 2015, but our united stance continues.

The book explores how the political, economic, social policies of the government from the time of independence from the British government in 1980 have led to economic collapse. It highlights how corruption has resulted in the gap between the rich and the poor widening while, at the same time, there was a lot of disruption in the lives of ordinary people which saw them moving to different countries because of the dismal conditions that were a result of the corruption. It also touches on the issue of human trafficking and disregard of proper environmental practices that have led to ecological disasters and encouraged the outbreak of diseases such as cholera in certain areas.

The next day he received a letter, telling him some of his family was coming to visit him. That was it, Wolly was so excited he rushed around but did nothing. So off he went waving the letter in one hand and holding the envelope in the other to show Millie, who had a quick read and said: "Oh, Wolly, they don't come for another week yet." " Ah", he said, "then we have time to get a party organized."
The redhead girl on the blacktop, the girl at the back of the room who you swear looked at you up and down, the girl at the party that you didn't have the nerve to ask to dance, the girl you see upon first sight and know that she is the one-we all know them. We all experience them. We all crave the moments that last lifetimes. But we also all experience that one moment-the moment she is gone.Read the treatise of an asperging daydreamer who sees life circuitously where the past, present, and future swim as one miasma of dreams of a daydreamer. Follow these mis-"sex" adventures of a "blerd" who grew up on happily-ever-after fantasies and managed to continue to get up every time he fell down in his fifty shades of incompetence. The story begins the day he died and ends the day he was born . . . or reborn. To him, it's just Thursday. And he reminds himself that when life throws you lemons, you just only need to go back to square one.
