These essays, written over a period of several years, touch on the shared human values that are necessary for integrity: personal, relational, and societal. Taken together, they suggest that integrity requires integrating within ourselves the values based on love of God and fellowman. In some cases, they warn of the dangers of the disintegration of these values beginning with the individual soul and extending beyond.
There was a divided opinion on how and who brought victory!!!First, the commander poised with confidence that he marshaled his troops by checkmating his opponent. He calculated his movement by understanding his environment before integrating operation. He won the battle of wits by designing a force on land, air and water that had organized units. The tyranny of numbers that joined the force was another argument. The soldiers revealed that they were well trained, focused, confidence, united and steadfast to annihilate the enemy. They persevered harsh weather condition muddy trenches, walked miles for hours and were deprived sleep for months. Every second mattered and they argued that they deserve honors for bringing victory. The president also bragged in his campaign how his government used its military budget considerably. He promised everybody that they were in safe hands under his helm and he should have another term. He hailed his military as ranked higher because of its oversight acquisition, logistics and technology. He knew wars were won by sophisticated weapons. He used this victory as campaign tool by making sure the country will remain invincible. He promised to more advanced equipment that are versatile, flexible and agile to meet the needs of combatant commanders.

When woman removes all the definitions that the world uses to define her, everything from her job to her wardrobe; from her hair and nails to the job she keeps, or even the job roles and stereotypes of cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, tending to children, and paying bills, what is left? What does the bare, vulnerable, unadulterated woman look like? What does she need? What does she desire? What does she express? The pieces in this book are only small reflections of the larger picture. I, being one woman, can fathom only so many feelings and expressions that only when we collect the expressions of every woman on this earth, can we realize the full essence and beauty of woman. For now, let us begin the conversation inch by inch, poem by poem, woman by woman.
In the Company of Animals is the personal story of one man's relationship withanimals across the eighty years of his life, a meditation on humanity's horrible historyof animal abuse, and an urgent plea for mercy and justice for animals in today'sworld.Poet Ken Lauter went vegetarian in 1976, and still struggles to go vegan - but isconvinced that non-human animals must be fully liberated if our own species is tohave a sustainable future or a sane social/spiritual life. Lauter doesn't "preach" thatmessage, but embodies it in a wide variety of work (100+ poems and 12 prose pieces). For both animal-lovers and animal-eaters, the voyage through these pages will provememorable - and perhaps life-changing.

Miami Beach, 1946. For Rabbi Sam Groh, the sparkling waters and sandy shores of Miami Beach should have symbolized salvation. World War II was over, but his personal success as newly anointed head rabbi of Miami's most esteemed reform congregation could not be enjoyed in the wake of the Holocaust's devastating toll on his people. When given the chance to help survivors leave Europe for a new homeland of their own in Palestine, Rabbi Groh is desperate to join the cause. Generations later the torch Rabbi Groh once ignited finds its way to his successor, his grandson, Rabbi Eitan Groh. Plagued with virulent antisemitism, the Jewish community of Europe is once again the target of hatred and bigotry at the scene of one of its darkest memories. Inspired by the bravery of his grandfather, Eitan is determined to go to the center of the controversy and do his part to prevent another mass Jewish tragedy on European soil. A turn in world events thrusts Eitan into battle against one of his people's darkest enemies, and powerful forces he knows little about. Racing against the crimes of the past in order to prevent crimes of the future, Eitan sets out on a journey that could prevent catastrophe. That is if it doesn't get him killed in the process. In A Reason to Rise, The Groh rabbinic dynasty takes the reader on an international journey of the Jewish experience in the 20th century. From the depths of the Holocaust to the establishment of the state of Israel, to the systemic rise of antisemitism across Europe, one family does their part to keep Judaism alive. In the spirit of Leon Uris and Daniel Silva, A Reason to Rise challenges readers to consider how and if Judaism outside of the State of Israel will continue to survive.
