God has been there for me everyday of my life through the ups and downs. I thank the Lord for His grace, love, faithfulness, and mercy on my life. I started writing poems thanking the Lord for all He has done in my life, and now I want to share these poems with the world. I pray these poems can give you hope, encouragement, and make you give more praises to the Lord through all He has done in your life. God commands us to glorify Him in all that we do (1 Corinthians 10:31) and my purpose for this book is that He gets all the glory.May you find all your hope; joy, peace, and love in Jesus as I have found it surrendering my life to Him, and may these poems help make you find rest in God''s faithfulness. Ali Nazari grew up in the faith of Islam before the Lord opened his eyes to the truth of the Gospel. God completely transformed his life when he fully surrendered to Christ. Ali has earned his degree from California State University, Northridge. He met His beautiful Fiancé at their church and they are getting married in March 2022. Ali loves Jesus and He hopes to continue to serve Him all the days of his life.

Children quickly become the most precious thing in a mother''s life. In an instant they become a guiding light, an ultimate purpose, and a reason for existing. Yet in an instant they can be taken away, along with your sense of self. Where does a mother go when a piece of herself is plucked from her arms? How does she maintain hope when the court system has failed and disregarded her so many times?Lost Without Custody of My Children and Trying to Invoke Change by Senoise Currie traverses the hurt and hollowness that comes with having your children taken from you. Currie begins the journey of redemption for the mistakes of her past and reveals the empowerment that comes with changing your life for the better. In a plea to the court system and other mothers like her, the author shares her story of heartache and transformation through the guidance of the Lord.In this story of hope, Currie takes a stand against the ethics of separating a rehabilitated, willing mother and her young children. Readers will soak up the ambition and optimism that flows from the author''s call for confidence and responsibility in motherhood. With the vigor that only a determined mother can have, Currie makes her case that not only are mothers deserving of second chances, but so are their children. For through Him, any obstacle can be conquered.

Two thousand years ago Jesus Christ walked the earth for three years-teaching, ministering, working miracles, dying on the cross and being Resurrected from the dead. Disciples who believed He was the promised Messiah followed Him and listened to His teachings. A disciple is a student. An apostle is one who recruits disciples and teaches them to follow after Christ. After the Resurrection, Jesus commissioned His disciples to become apostles. As Christians, the first thing we are called to do is be a disciple, to learn about Christ, to believe and to follow. However, that is not all we are called to do. Like the first disciples, we are also commissioned to be apostles, to go and spread the Christian faith to all nations.Commissioned to Be Apostles: Love, Worship, Community, Learning Service contains 151 short reflections offering practical instruction on what it means to be an apostle of Christ. It contains practical and easy ways to model and spread the message of Christianity, both in a church community and in our personal lives. It begins with the Great Commission and examines how the early church spread the message of the Gospel. It discusses our personal foundation as Christians that we receive at baptism and gives instruction on how to effectively participate in the life of the Church. Finally, it discusses how to transform the Church from what it is to what Christ intends for it to be, examining the chasm between the two and how to bridge this gulf. The title of this book reflects not only our commission to be apostles; it reflects five core values-love, worship, community, learning and service-that will help us fulfill this commission. Father Stavros N. Akrotirianakis is a Greek Orthodox Priest who serves St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Tampa, Florida. He has also authored the books Let All Creation Rejoice: Reflections on Advent, the Nativity and Epiphany; The Road Back to Christ: Reflections on Lent, Holy Week and Pascha; Blessed Is the Kingdom, Now and Forever: Reflections on the Divine Liturgy; Let Us Be Attentive: Reflections on the Sunday and Feastday Scripture Readings of the Orthodox Church; and Engaged: Called to Be Disciples, Reflections on What It Means to Be a Christian. He writes a daily reflection called "The Prayer Team," which can be found at www.prayerteam365.com.

Words are powerful. They can give life or they can tear it apart. Tearing people down with words has become a popular thing (cue reality TV or cyber bullying). Years ago, I started putting up social media posts to uplift, encourage and motivate my friends because I was so tired of seeing all the negative things. Helping people focus on the good - see and believe it. And when I coupled that with my faith, that was special. So when God put it on my spirit to write a book, the first thing I thought about was affirmations. I don''t say them every day, but I do feed myself positive scripture every day. So I took what I do and coupled it with those affirmations to create this book. When you feed on the positive things, you will attract more positive things to you. And I hope this book will help you with that. Essence C. Atkins grew up in Severn, MD and currently resides in Northern Virginia with her two sons, Paris and Sean and with her husband Steve. After returning to school in 2017 to obtain a Master''s in Health and Wellness Coaching, she currently works as a project manager for a digital health and wellness company. Although she loves the work that she does, writing has been a love of hers for years (and what she would like to eventually do full-time). Having blogged before, it wasn''t until she heard from God in early 2020 to write a book, that she even considered doing it. And she can''t wait to write more. When she''s not writing or working, she enjoys anything that involves spending time with her family (particularly watching her youngest son play basketball) and watching true crime shows.

All it took was just a simple challenge to find my purpose to get me started on this incredible journey. I discovered so much about where I came from, experiences that turned into life lessons, experiencing God''s purpose for me in my own life and experiencing the gift of GRACE that is unbelievable and indescribable. Our lives are like a puzzle, and the pieces fit together. I am PROOF!

At our ''new birth'', we are given ''GIFTS'' by God. The first gift is the Holy Spirit and through the Holy Spirit we receive ''SPIRITUAL GIFTS''. Every Christian has received at least one gift, some more. These gifts are given so we might; Worship God - in spirit and truth, hear and respond to His Voice, be identified with Him, and overcome the works of the devil. But how do we unwrap and use these gifts God has given? That is why this is written! In this ''time of the falling away'', we must know that our spiritual gifts are given to enable EACH of us to successfully contribute to the spiritual warfare that the ''Body of Christ'' MUST fight. Every good soldier must know HOW to use his weapons. The difference with us is that we have ''spiritual weapons'' that can Only be operated by spiritual means. Under the ''controls'' directed by the Scriptures, we are to use the ''gifts'' to ''discern'' the spiritual things of God, from that which is evil. God is enlisting ALL His people, not just leadership, to activate, ''the weapons of our warfare'' that when done in the unity and fellowship with other Christians, can ''pull down strongholds''. Praise GOD! Elder William L. Garvin has served as Pastor of Home Ministry Outreach Church (HMOC) in Gary, Indiana, USA, since 1995. He and his wife, -and co-pastor-Beverly Joyce, have been married for fifty-plus years; they''ve been blessed with four adult children, son Macy, daughter Kelley, son David, and daughter Rachel (Mansoor) Leh. And three grandchildren: Yayra, Nylah, and Micah. They are also blessed with many spiritual sons and daughters. As a Pastor and Teacher, many have asked him about the Holy Spirit and His gifts. This book strives to clarify that the supernatural nature of the spiritual gifts cannot be explained or identified in natural ways. It goes on to identify, from the Scriptures, what the spiritual gifts are, what they do, how they are received, and should operate in each Christian. This is the second book authored by, Pastor Bill, the first being Who Is Jehovah? in 2001, Xulon Press, that shared with the reader techniques for witnessing to Jehovah''s witnesses. To correspond with Pastor Bill email: bbgarvin1130@gmail.com

Why is it so difficult for those of us created in God''s image to think "my way" instead of "His way?" In this true-to-life story, the reader will get a glimpse of how one young man failed time, and again as he tried desperately to find success in his way instead of in God''s way.Although near successes did come, true meaning remained as elusive as a moonbeam. Just when he thought he had it, realization proved otherwise. Onward he trod only to find that his prize had to be just over the next hill of his ever-searching heart. However, the success this searching soul had so desperately craved did come, but only after total surrender to his Lord. Then, "only imagined" opportunities began to present themselves.Today, however, finds this once desperate seeker''s life fulfilled as he serves in his second pastorate by keeping God''s way as his guide. Gene is currently serving as pastor of Reservoir Road Missionary Baptist Church in Kingsport, Tennessee where he and his wife Brenda reside. When the struggle is real, the reward is great. As you go through the struggles, eventually you will find your way through it. So, never let minor things distract you from the bigger hand given to you. It is not about the cards you have been dealt, but how well you play your hand. Either you will get weaker, or you will get stronger. It''s that simple. You will either take the hand that has been dealt to you and allow it to make you a better you, the greatest you or you will allow it to tear you down. The choice is yours. It does not belong to fate; it all belongs to the one standing in the mirror. It all starts with you!

As believers, faith is the most valuable and precious resource we have. It is our sole connection with heaven and with God. Faith is also our primary resource for completing the great commission:Mark 16:15-18.He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."(NIV).We require faith to complete this commission and we need to know how we can manage this most valuable of commodities that we have. Knowing how to manage and grow our faith can lead us into the world of the supernatural with God in a way that will astonish and astound.Learn some of the simple principles of faith and open that door today. My grandmother and my mother were strong women who instilled values in me and my siblings that would carry weight for years to come. Although limited in education and resources, they were survivors. I am a cancer survivor twice over and my illness taught me that I was never alone and to share my story. God has been so good, I just cannot keep what He has done for me and my family to myself. So, I started to write and post every Wednesday words of encouragement and inspiration. Many people think that their situations are a solo project and that is so far from the truth. Life is but a vapor, short, and comes with all sorts of problems we will experience. You are not alone and this book is written just for you. It''s inspiration for your journey called life. Never let what you see, hinder what you believe. I wanted to put my God inspired writings in a little book so that everyone that reads it, will have something tangible to hold on to. Thank you in advance. I love you and God bless you. Carolyn I grew up in East Oakland, CA in the projects poor, but felt rich. It wasn''t until 1997 that my life changed when I was diagnosed with a rare cancer, stage 3. I had a reoccurrence in 2008 and was able to complete my master''s degree in psychology. Through this, I learned who God is and my Christian journey began. I am married to Bishop A.L. Cobbs, Jr. of 35 years, we have two children, a son-in-love, and a grandson. God be praised for allowing us to be successful in the midst!

This book..."Stories of a Carpenter"... is just exactly that. Dave, a carpenter, as was Jesus, has experienced more than his share of joy along with heartbreak. If you feel that you are the only one that may have survived some unbearable situations, you are not alone. You will read about the heart of God as He worked through Dave in order to get his daughter''s attention, and the heartbreak of abuse by friends and family members, as well as a couple of stories of several automobile accidents of which he survived. He has been on missionary trips internationally, seen God raise people from the dead, prayed over people to see them healed by the wonder working power of Jesus, and so much more.Incorporated with his real-life stories are teachings on how you can learn to walk through this life in a more meaningful way by increasing or renewing your relationship with God. Dave has spent countless hours reading scripture, listening to teachings on his tape player, listening to a wide variety of Pastor''s sermons, having hands on experience in street ministry, preaching from the pulpit, and also taught classes on deliverance ministry. He has been used by God in powerful ways, and is able to share some of these teachings that he has learned throughout personal years of experience. When there was a loss of a loved one, financial and health issues or those times I just did not feel that God was with me. I felt out of the ark of safety and alone. It''s easy to glorify God when things are going well. But can you acknowledge Him when faced with shattered dreams and broken promise? The reason you are interested in this book is either because you have experienced childhood trauma or want to help someone who has. This is not a book to read but a journey to complete. I didn''t write it to help you understand childhood trauma but to help you do something about it. More is shared about the solution to trauma rather than the problem. The workbook is designed to help you identify your trauma and make sure you are processing it biblically. You will be surprised at how God''s Word will apply directly to the personal areas of your life. I called this a workbook for a reason. It takes work to admit and face your negativity, fantasies, bitterness, anger, doubt, self-pity, and self-centeredness.Overcoming the effects of childhood trauma are possible as you trust in the promises of God and properly apply his wisdom to your life. Rick is on staff with Pacific Youth Correctional Ministries and has been working with troubled youth since 1981. He is an ordained minister and certified correctional chaplain. Each week he conducts church services, bible studies, and one on one counseling sessions at three probation facilities and provides aftercare within the community.

Sylvia uses her creative writing talents to draw you into each story and demonstrates a keen ability to make you feel a part of the adventure while adding vivid details to create a storyline that is easy to follow. You will pick up on her sense of humor quickly and will even find yourself laughing throughout the book. At the same time there is a certain reality that keeps you wanting for more. This book will remind you that it is not about falling down, but getting up! Enjoy! As a child Sylvia had several dreams for her future modeling, nursing and writing, although there were few opportunities for blacks back in the 40''s and 50''s. After high school Sylvia married the love of her life Charles Hall. During the 70''s Sylvia was hired as a school community liaison to help resolve racial tensions. At age 45 having raised eight children, seven sons and one daughter she decided to go to nursing school. As we well know life is filled with many challenges, her mother developed severe cardiac problems and her son, actor Kevin Peter Hall (Predator & Predator 2 and Harry and the Hendersons) was diagnosed with AIDS. Her time was spent traveling back and forth from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles. After her son and mother died she hit an emotional and spiritual low. It was then, she drew upon her love for writing to express her wide range of emotions. It was her faith in God and her desire to share with others that inspired her to write this book.

The greatest love story ever told began in the Garden of Eden. A holy God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) created Adam and Eve in His own image, yet Adam and Eve disobeyed and sinned against Him. Sin destroyed their relationship with God; therefore, they could no longer live in God''s presence. Today, sin continues to cause a divide between God and the people He created, stopping us from living a fulfilled life that has meaning and purpose. Thankfully, God has an answer and I pray you find encouragement, hope and God''s blueprint for salvation in the pages of this book. The wages of sin is death and sin must be paid for. Either God must pay, or we must pay; no third person can pay for our sin. In His blueprint, God pays the penalty for our sin through Jesus Christ and returns holiness to our spirit, mind and body so we can again live and enjoy God''s presence. This great love story begins in Genesis and concludes in the book of the Revelation as man re-enters God''s presence. Join me and countless others on this journey and experience God''s Blueprint for Salvation. I once read that Aristotle asserted that poetry was more important than history. With that premise, Camille Calls is a book of poetry about a generation during the years of a foreign war. One of the actors on this stage says, "Poems shine new light on what we thought we knew."In a way this book is dedicated to that generation, though I am only one voice of that generation and my characters on the stages of this book number only a few.In another sense this book is dedicated to you, you who read this book, who hear sounds and songs of Pacific and Hawai''i and a submarine, who dream of a plunge into Pacific surf, who smell rain and ocean and plumeiria, who read and listen. When people listen, they open hearts and souls to whoever is calling. So, listen, because Camille calls. The author was raised and educated in Hawai"i, and has lived in California for 50 years. Most importantly, his high school years and college years were spent in the 1960''s, a decade of war and peace, faith and religion, human rights, environmental consciousness, and love. Married in 1968, the author and wife have 6 children and 5 grandchildren. The author is inspired by the spirit of Hawai''i, as described by the Reverend Akaka in 1959, "When a people or person live in the spirit of aloha, they live in the spirit of God."
