This book covers the fundamentals of the theory of optimal methods for ill-posed problems, as well as ways to obtain accurate and accurate-by-order error estimates, along with applications to a number of inverse problems in heat conduction. It is intended for both researchers and graduate students, and it can also be used for courses in linear ill-posed problems, numerical methods for inverse problems, and optimal methods for ill-posed problems.
