During a Summerview Secondary School's annual charity auction, Clementine's mysterious sister Maria is murdered. She had only just arrived back in the country and was not well received by the Dewstow community due to her criminal past, and a scandalous article written by the Dewstow Freepress. The Dinner Lady Detectives soon discover that the killer was a hired professional. Clementine is convinced Maria's ex-husband Colin hired the killer, but Margery is not so sure. The deeper Margery digs the more secrets she uncovers. The items donated to the auction were also sourced through nefarious means, stolen years ago from a prominent Ittonvale family, who have secrets to keep of their own...
