modern literature. This novel comes as an answer to this shortcoming of modern literature. It
depicts the lives and culture of Bharatavas with minutest details and literary brilliance.
Time and death act as the driving forces behind this novel, which unfolds the history of a small
fishing village over half a century, through hundreds of faces, with the metabolisms of three
generations. The essence of the novel revolves around love and sacrifice. This novel portrays the
great drama of life through individuals like the sea is seen through the waves.
