Lewis Carroll is the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. On a summer day in 1862, he invented a story to entertain three little girls. This story became the novel Alice's Adventures Under Ground, later retitled to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and often shortened to just
Alice in Wonderland.
