The present work seeks to explore the connection between the famous German composer Ludwig van Beethoven and the philosophy of the also German Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. Musician and philosopher lived at the same time, in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. It is considered that his works had a great impact on the culture and thought of the time of the French Revolution and the figure of Napoleon Bonaparte. Hegel covered a wide range of topics, from art aesthetics and metaphysics to politics and history. On the other hand, Beethoven is known as one of the most important composers in the history of music. His works, such as the Heroic Symphony, the Fifth Symphony and the Ninth Symphony, have been considered masterpieces of Classical Music, of great social and cultural impact. Both believed that music was capable of expressing the very essence of human life, and that its power to move and transform people lay in its ability to unite the rational and the emotional. Their works remain relevant and inspiring to this day.
