Capuletta

Capuletta is a burlesque play by George Melville Baker, first performed in New York in 1868. It parodies the story of Romeo and Juliet, as well as the conventions of opera and melodrama, with outrageous humor and musical numbers. It was a popular entertainment of its time, and remains a fascinating example of Victorian popular culture.
