Chomskyan Linguistics and Its Competitors

Explains Chomskyan linguistics. This work focuses on the objections that have been made to the assumptions in the research programme, and explains why these assumptions can and should be made. It shows how areas of linguistics that are not central to Chomskyan linguistics can be incorporated within this framework.
