Colonel Rusher and the Petals

A short story about a group which includes a retired colonel and a pop group who are at a party in the drawing room of a house. An elderly lady enters an adjoining room for a rest. Someone or something gives her a shock and she collapses. Nobody entered or left the room so what could have happened?
