Crocker Genealogy, Volume 2

Om Crocker Genealogy, Volume 2

Following the 1995 publication of A Crocker Genealogy, a great deal of related information began coming to light. This, along with a number of recent births, has prompted the release of this second volume, which is a companion or supplement to Volume 1. Each addition or correction is headed with the relevant page number in Volume 1, followed by a source code, followed by the Henry system identification number for the individual in question, followed by the new information. In addition to the main line of descendants from Deacon William Crocker who traveled from England to Boston in 1634, two other lines are presented in the hope that a missing link will be found as a result of this publication. The book presents fourteen generations of descendants as well as a thorough discussion of William Crocker's background and family origins in England (considerably expanded from the discussion of the English Crockers in Volume 1). Other additions for this volume include the will of Deacon William Crocker and excerpts from the 1861-1867 diary of Charles Wilson Crocker. The every-name index contains over 3,000 names. The author is a direct descendant of Deacon William Crocker and has spent most of her life in the town of Barnstable. For fifteen years she wrote a regular column for a local weekly newspaper, and she has contributed articles to the magazine Cape Cod Life. In addition to the two Crocker genealogies, Ms. Leonard has written Osterville, Twice Remembered and Records of the Proprietors of the Common Lands in the Town of Barnstable, Massachusetts, 1703-1795.
