After a life-changing journey in book one, Annie's course is apparently set and she is ready to open the next chapter of her destiny with Ramone. However, amidst the politically fraught British turnover of Hong Kong to Beijing, politics and suspense intervene, causing lives to be changed and plans to unravel.
The island of Mallorca off the coast of Spain offers the perfect refuge from the conflict. In the midst of the King's Cup Regatta and the Night of the Pilgrims Pilgrimage, a wedding is planned high in the mountains overlooking the sea. Annie's extraordinary journey has produced the man of her dreams and the happy couple welcomes family and friends from their different worlds to celebrate their union.
Once gathered, one has to ask...is it fate that all these personalities have convened on this island at this moment in time? This combustion of characters has found themselves swept into Annie's journey and perhaps found destiny of their own with far-reaching choices set before them.
