This book is a treatise on Latin grammar and metrics, written in the 2nd century AD by the North African scholar Terentianus Maurus. It discusses the structure of words and sentences, the rules of prosody, and the different poetic meters used in classical Latin poetry. Although it is primarily a work of linguistic analysis, it also provides insight into the cultural and intellectual life of the Roman Empire.
