Er gibt eine umfassende Darstellung der Ideen des deutschen Sozialismus und zeigt, wie sich diese auf die christliche Gesellschaft auswirken. Dabei legt er auch dar, dass die christliche Lehre im Widerspruch zum Atheismus und Materialismus des Sozialismus steht. Ein wichtiger Beitrag zur deutsch-christlichen Soziallehre des 19. Jahrhunderts.
