It is a very common disease in Morocco, as elsewhere, and its incidence continues to rise as populations age and living conditions change.Diabetes is a veritable social scourge, affecting an active part of the population and giving rise to multiple medical, economic and social problems, but more particularly because it is the fourth leading cause of death in most industrialized countries, and its incidence is rising steadily in many developing and newly industrialized countries.
