Escape from the Emerald City

A mysterious gift transports Katie, her brother Tristan, and sister Destinee to the Chicago World's Fair of 1893 (also called "The White City"). They find themselves a thousand miles from their Texas home and over a hundred years before they were even born. But their arrival doesn't go unnoticed. Running from a shady circus owner determined to make them a permanent part of his sideshow, they come upon the author L. Frank Baum. With help from Baum's family, Katie, Tristan, and Destinee tour the fair's amazing sights searching for some way back to their own time. Along the way, the kids provide inspiration for Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, but will they make it home or be forced into the circus life for good?
