Failure To Yield

- A Memoir for God

Om Failure To Yield

At the start of a worldwide pandemic; a tragic car accident changed my life forever. This is the story of how God's grace brought me through survivor's guilt, spinal surgery, and divorce during unprecedented chaos. While I struggled to cope with the passing of the other driver; I fought to keep my dignity, faith, and strength intact. The trauma of unsaid accusations and investigations was a source of daily pain and fear. I didn't feel like I had the right to complain because I had walked away with my life. The first surgery of my life took place on election day in 2020. With all the threats of violence and political division, there could not have been a scarier time to close my eyes to the world and trust that I would wake back up. Before and after the surgery; I had tremendous doubts about my physical healing. God's grace sustained my mental well-being, which resulted in overall healing. As I struggled to complete a graduates degree and home school teenage twins; my oldest child became a mother. There was nothing ordinary about my first grandchild's birth. In fact, a lot went wrong while I sat patiently on the sidelines begging God to "tag me in". As I learned to trust HIM more and more, I found solace in HIS grace. I found hidden treasures in peaceful places. This story is for the person that seemingly lost everything and everyone, all at once. Only; they held on long enough to experience GOD's grace. Each morning that they GOD up, and put one foot in front of the other, they saw more and more to be thankful for. They never ever gave up. Even when it hurt so bad, they would question what it actually meant to be a survivor. This story is about understanding and receiving GOD's grace. It's about its perfect timing. It's about letting go and letting GOD. It's about leaning not on your own understanding. This story is therapy and GOD's way of letting me feel what I needed to feel, in order to close those gaping wounds. I've never cried so deeply or felt such gripping fear. I've also never felt such joy and restoration. This is not a religious book; it's about faith. It's about a knowing that only GOD's child can cultivate and receive. This story starts out being about a failure to yield but ends with love that knows no bounds.
