It's Valentine's Day, and Sadie is having dinner with sexy detective Dan Bartlett. Not that it's a date, mind you. Just two friends sharing a candlelight dinner on the most romantic night of the year. Providing the entertainment are developer Ben Cartwright and his family. A real-life reality show, the Cartwrights aren't shy about airing their business in public. But what starts as public drama becomes far more serious when Ben is found shot to death later that evening.
Who shot Ben in the back? His bitter ex-wife? His duplicitous new bride? His angry daughter? Or maybe the former secretary who has been lurking about. It soon becomes evident that the Cartwrights are awash with family secrets.
Sadie vows to stay out of police business. But when she and Bartlett disagree over the killer's identity, she finds herself back in the amateur detective business. And this time, she's about to find out just how far a person will go to cover up a crime.
