This book is a memoir of some of my experiences in life.As a writer of biographies and memoirs, I felt it was important to write and record some of my memories that are not included in my biography, Journey of a Disciple. Kathleen and I first met when we were 12 years old. I have always believed that God brought us together. We were married in 1965 in Miami, Oklahoma. She is a registered nurse, retired from her career in public health. I was a financial advisor for 30 years before I retired and began my writing career.

My first book of memories is titled, Journey of a Disciple and is my life story, particularly dealing with my experiences as a disciple of the Lord Jesus. It focuses on my faith and spiritual experiences up to the time I turned 74 years of age.I wrote the second book of memories primarily about my family - my brothers, parents, and grandparents. I titled the second book Memories of a Disciple. In this my third book of memories, I wanted to write about some of my memories about my wife and children and grandchildren, in order to round out my life story for the benefit of my present family as well as the future generations, and others who may be interested in knowing about me and my experiences and values.It's been a wonderful life, full of blessings and beautiful remembrances, thanks to the love of my family and friends. I'm happy to share this testament to the love of and mercy of God and his son Jesus, my Redeemer and friend. I hope you are inspired by the reading. God bless you.

I decided to consolidate a number of my personal testimonies in this book for my children, grandchildren, and generations to come. I wish I had known my grandparents and other ancestors better. Had they written down some of their personal stories and testimonies it would have been a tremendous blessing. I hope this book will be a blessing and source of inspiration to all.

The Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi is one of my favorite prayers that I have memorized and say quite often. It reminds me to put Jesus first in my life, and to pray often for the well-being of others, for they are true gifts of the Lord. Many times this prayer has changed my outlook on life for the better, and has lifted my spirits when I am feeling disheartened or alone. The white doves of peace help me remember that the Holy Spirit dwells within me, like the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 3:16 "Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" Thinking of others first is both a blessing to them and a blessing to us. As disciples of Jesus Christ we can be an example to others. Love never fails.

One of my most cherished books in my library is The Life of the Beloved, by distinguished priest, author, and theologian Henri Nouwen. Reading his biography is like reading Who's Who in the field of religion. He lived his faith every day to the fullest, and he was a prolific writer. I hope you will begin reading some of his books. He has written 39 of them. Start by reading The Life of the Beloved, an easy and short read that you will surely enjoy-he will touch your heart as only Henri Nouwen can.
