  • av Kerry Wills

Kerry Wills was attempting to share his experience working in business with his son, who also plans to go into business after college. Upon contemplating an approach that would resonate with his teenager, he recognized that working in business is very much like playing an online role-playing game (RPG). Like an RPG, the business game has character types, player levels and ranks, interactions with other characters, rules to follow, quests to participate in, rewards to collect and varying ways to make progress and advance to higher levels. In nearly three decades working in business, Kerry has observed that the people who are the most successful are not necessarily the smartest ones nor the ones who do their jobs the best, but rather the ones that "play the game" the best. This book is intended to break down the game into its components, identify how the game is played, provide insights into optimally playing the game and suggest techniques to advance to higher levels. This book is intended for new entrants to the game as well as experienced players.

Thirteen poems are paired with thirteen images written and created over twenty-two years of Advent, Christmas and Epiphany seasons. The words and pictures are often surprising and give fresh illumination to the ancient celebrations. With a cosmic sweep they contemplate the past and its significance to current day as we look into our future. One begins to relate to the events and characters of the season's stories as if we are not so far removed, almost as if the stories are still playing out. Images draw upon astrophotography, nature, and common objects using the camera, oil paint, pastels, digital paint, collage, even stage sets and costumes. Scripture references are provided as background to some poems which range from the philosophical and metaphysical, to the theological and prophetic. This would make an excellent accompaniment for one's contemplative disciplines of the season.

This tale has proven to be a favorite among student that I have shared it with. A poor man in Albania has to kill his rooster for a meal. But, on second thought, he opted to cut the rooster in half. He ate one half and saved the other half for a pet. Now, the Half Rooster was nobody's fool. He knew he had to go out to earn his fame and fortune in the world before the poor man got hungry again. With the help of Frog, Fox, Wolf and Mouse, the Half Rooster succeeded in his mission. I first arrived in Albania shortly after it opened up to the West. In those days there were no travel books or Internet searches. The border crossing was just that. A crossing. No signs of civilization, no restaurants, and no hotels welcomed me at the border. There were few cars back then. The main form of transportation was by donkey cart. And, I arrived at night with no idea where to go. I was told the closest hotel was in Gjirokaster, 20 miles away. A taxi driver had a hotel business card that said, "We speak English." It was good enough for me. That was how I met the Kotoni family. Their home was a two hundred-year-old Ottoman building that over-looked the old town. The family exuded so much Albanian hospitality and warmth that I decided to stay an extra day in Gjirokaster. During my stay, I signed their guestbook. However, I didn't just sign it. I drew the skyline of the old city as seen from their front porch. Nobody ever did that before, and I wasn't forgotten. Fourteen years later . . . Taulant, the family son, found my website. Now living in the USA (and certainly no longer eight), he said his parents still thought fondly of me and showed off my drawing to any and all guests who came to their now expanded guest house. I decided it was time to go back to Albania and make another drawing in their guestbook. As it turns out, I've visited the Kotonis four times -- two of them were muraling adventures. Every time I return, it is like coming home to family. I look forward to the day when I can go back to Albania for my fifth family reunion. Faleminderit, Kotonis.

Enthralling and contemplative. A cosmic gift! Time and Space offers us a break from the jaded forces that push the spirit to the limits in our daily grind. This stellar book takes us to a heart-warming journey of self-reflection and discovery of where we truly belong. Don Luman-ag's 100 beautifully written original poems illuminate the way as we cruise into the vast darkness of human struggles and complexities in the context of space time philosophy. Like its predecessor "Infinity and Beyond", this book is masterfully written with the Author's characteristic adventurous, vulnerable and intrepid spirit which leaves us readers with positive synergy and better understanding of how to live in unison with the grand scheme of things. This book of remarkable poems is a must have and read as it endeavors to inspire, honor humanity and make us smile.Joy Talens-SaturosWriter, Poet and Lawyer

The general format of this book is I'll start with each concept, explaining it in a bunch of sections and graphical examples. I will introduce you to some of the notations and fancy terminologies that data scientists like to use so you can talk the same language, but the concepts themselves are generally pretty simple. After that, I'll throw you into some actual Python code that actually works that we can run and mess around with, and that will show you how to actually apply these ideas to actual data.

I'm trying to imagine how it would feel to watch snow falling in NYC. I have never visited New York City during winter, only when the weather is warm or extremely hot and when the air smells of dust and gasoline. It's hard to imagine myself walking on Broadway wearing winter coat and boots. Would I find it enchanting or would I hate it? Maybe I would be shivering and whimpering in the icy wind like an orphan dog just wanting to go home?

Guided to share my insights with the "world", with those who are ready to meet themselves.¿ a broken heart is an indicator of lack of Self Love - Love for SELF¿ Imperfection is Divine Perfection¿ Self Love is a "primary/hidden law" of human evolution¿ Pain and suffering in relationships are sign of an unfolding transformation¿ Everything from inside IS reflecting your "OUTside world"¿ Your Higher Self is your best friend & Your perception is everything¿ Love yourself coz this is the only ONE who stays with you forever!

A Woman in the Woods is a solo role-playing game. It is a narrative based game that is primarily played through journaling. The game uses dice to create story events for the player to react to. The player then imagines and resolves how their character deals with the day's events.Set in a magical realism world, this game chronicles the daily life of one or more herb women, sometimes known as witches. These people, were outcasts of their nearby villages. Often forced to live outside of the village borders, they were treated as oddities or strange at best. All while they plied their trade in exchange for the things they needed to survive. While they provided necessary medical assistance to those who could not afford to travel into towns for apothecaries, and sometimes provided more local, and often "pagan", spiritual advice, they were also unfortunately easy scapegoats in times of strife. You are a healer. You are a source of knowledge. You are a key part of your village's life. Yet you are paradoxically ostracized from it. This is the life your character leads.
