This book has shown that research into drug engineering becomes an exciting activity, once fruitful feats have been achieved. This, is probably due to the majority of scientists, under pain, to find a hobby, accompanied by a responsible and tranquil mind. This modest manuscript will help you, in a reliable way, to capture the advances of science, at the level of galenic formulation, of dressings, for wounds and infected wounds, at the level of human skin. These exist in the form of a hydrogel or hemostatic dressing for local application. More specifically, we are interested in the design of antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and wound-healing bionanocomposites with optimal therapeutic effects and high long-term stability for benign skin diseases, which are thought to be responsible for superficial or even deep ulcerative complications due to neglect.

Fungal infections of the skin, hair and nails are among the most common infections worldwide. Such infection predominates in children, the elderly, males and immunocompromised people with diseases such as diabetes, cancer or HIV. For some patients, nail disease is only a cosmetic inconvenience and not a medical problem, so they seek advice or counselling for cosmetic and aesthetic reasons. However, it can cause pain, social and emotional discomfort, permanent damage to the nail and contagion to others. Depending on its classification, the patient may require long-term treatment. This work aims to provide elements to provide a solution to the increase in the incidence of onychomycosis in the dermatology clinics of the Raúl Sánchez polyclinic in the municipality of Pinar del Río.

The insular groups surrounding the island of Cuba constitute biocenters in the context of the coastal landscapes of the country. The avifauna of the Cayería Sur of Sancti Spíritus Province, central Cuba, is analyzed. This insular group is surrounded by the waters of the Caribbean Sea and belongs to the Jardines de la Reina Archipelago. It is a group of islets composed of seven islands scattered along the southern coast of the province of Sancti Spíritus, which share the same geological and evolutionary history and biodiversity. Its avifauna is made up of 88 species, forming specific assemblages for each habitat occupied. The keys with the highest species richness are: Cayo Blanco de Zaza, Cayó Blanco de Casilda and Cayó Macho de Afuera; these islands are the most heterogeneous and therefore the ones with the greatest refuge and feeding capacities for wild avifauna. The habitats most occupied by the species are: beaches and dunes (54), mangrove (48) and sandy coastal scrub (46). The trophic guilds best represented in species are: Insectivores (37) and piscivores (33). The endemic reaches eight species for 28.57 %. The area is very important.

Radiotherapy is an important part of the management of oncological patients, being applied in more than half of them; With the advance of technology, radiotherapy is becoming more and more important, being able to give more localised treatments, minimising side effects. This advance in technology has also allowed us to understand to a greater extent how radiotherapy works, and this may be related to immune effects in patients, which may occur during treatment in areas outside the area of irradiation, explained by the By-stander and abscopal effects, or late effects in the treatment area such as late radiodermatitis, a rare diagnostic entity in which the skin develops a recall reaction in relation to a previously irradiated area, the pathophysiology of this entity is still unclear but could be associated with an immune reaction; In this book we develop a case of late radiodermatitis, its diagnosis and treatment.

Ancylostomideans are endoparasites belonging to the phylum Nematoda, Order Strongylida and have a monoxenic life cycle, lodging in the small intestine of dogs and other wild canines and cats. They attach to the intestinal epithelium of their host and there feed on its blood, producing melena and even haemorrhagic anaemia and haematochezia, which can be fatal in neonates. It is also important for public health as these parasites are also capable of infecting humans, causing the so-called cutaneous larva migrans, a skin condition caused by the subcutaneous migration of the larvae, leaving behind them marks of the route they have taken, causing an inflammatory response that results in a pruritic dermatosis.

Black tumors are a frequent reason for consultation in dermatological practice. Every dermatologist's main concern is to rule out cutaneous melanoma. We propose a hybrid simulation scenario for dermatology residents, with the objectives of dermoscopically diagnosing melanoma among other pigmented skin lesions, and then announcing the diagnostic suspicion to the simulated patient.A hybrid simulator consisting of a mannequin torso bearing pigmented skin lesions and a simulated patient was set up in the simulation room. A digital dermoscope and a computer were required. The target audience consists of 4 dermatology residents. The clinical situation presented is that of a patient consulting for the modification of one of the pigmented lesions he has on his back. After welcoming the patient, the learner examines the pigmented lesions on a mannequin's torso, and interprets aloud the corresponding dermoscopic image, which he or she visualizes on a computer screen. During the debriefing, the trainer discusses the various stages of the scenario, using Contextualization-Decontextualization-Recontextualization loops.

In recent years there has been a huge expansion in MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) courses, democratically favouring people seeking professional qualification and updating. In this scenario, various platforms and providers have emerged offering courses, most of them from world-renowned universities. Among the problems observed in MOOCs is the lack of pedagogical support tools to help teachers plan courses, as well as high dropout rates, especially due to the heterogeneity and cultural diversity of their participants. In order to alleviate these problems, a revised version of Bloom's theory of educational objectives has emerged, supporting new ways of designing courses to achieve the best possible results. Therefore, this book presents a study of MOOCs and applications of this new Revised Bloom's Taxonomy, thus resulting in a platform and a pedagogical tool that guides the teacher in planning a MOOC course in order to achieve the expected educational objectives.

Primary hyperoxaluria is a group of inherited diseases with autosomal recessive inheritance (ARD), resulting from an inborn disorder of hepatic glyoxylate metabolism responsible for excessive oxalate production and increased urinary oxalate excretion. This disorder leads to precipitation of highly insoluble oxalate in the form of calcium oxalate crystals in the kidneys, resulting in nephrocalcinosis, recurrent urinary lithiasis (LU) and frequent progression to chronic renal failure (CKD). When renal function is impaired, elevated oxalemia leads to systemic oxalosis, corresponding to calcium oxalate deposition in various tissues, mainly bone, but also the cardiovascular system, skin, retina, etc.

The mango is native to the forests of India, where it has been cultivated for over 4,000 years. The kent mango's flesh is fiberless, juicy and very sweet, with a small to medium-sized stone. It has intense yellow to orange flesh and a greenish-yellow skin partially colored red. The mango tree is a member of the Anacardiaceae family. It is a fruit tree characterized by an upright, more or less spreading habit, from 9 to 30 meters high. Its evergreen foliage gives off a strong turpentine scent. The mango leaf is whole, ovoid, lanceolate to oval, 15 to 40 cm long and 1.5 to 4 cm wide.Conventional kent mango production aims to optimize production in relation to the surface area cultivated, in order to make a high annual profit on the same surface area, and involves the use of chemical products (chemical fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, herbicides) and modern tools and equipment.

The study is based on the problem identified by the PNAD carried out by the IBGE in 1976, where the basic indicator "racial identification" generated a major problem of interpretation on the part of social scientists, since the Brazilians interviewed answered 135 colours to designate the colour/race classification they attributed to themselves. This study arose mainly from two questions: what constitutes the peculiarity of the way race relations are constructed in Brazil, since the indicators show that the majority of the population is aware of the existence of racism in the country, but, as a counter-sense, these same people do not consider themselves racist and avoid discussions that generate conflicts in this area? Under what logic (or logics) is our way of thinking and classifying in terms of colour and race based, where a variety of terminologies are favoured, such as moreno, moreno claro and escurinho, to the detriment of bipolar categories like white and black? Through ethnographic data, these questions are developed in this book as a possible interpretation of Brazil's complex racial classification system.

Carl Schmitt's work has been controversial since its origins not only in political terms, because of his critique of liberalism, but also because of the rejection by some renowned theologians of the the theological foundation of his juridical-political positions. For this reason, not only his detractors but also his followers have created the image of a "Nazi", "reactionary" or "authoritarian" Carl Schmitt. While it is true that his work draws on Catholic thinkers considered counter-revolutionary - such as De Maistre, De Bonald and Donoso Cortés - it is also true that Schmitt's thought has other theological foundations, so that appealing to a general Catholic ethos to identify the core of his thought is not only tendentious, but, to say the least, misleading. Unfortunately, most jurists, political scientists and philosophers, of whatever orientation, have forgotten this fundamental dimension. In the face of this interpretation, our purpose is to clarify the true theological foundation of Schmittian thought.

The skin is made up of the epidermis, dermis, hypodermis and associated appendages. It is considered to be the largest organ in the human body and is subject to any kind of aggression that could jeopardise the body's functioning, such as the appearance of wounds. A skin wound, of whatever origin, is an anatomical alteration of the skin that affects its physiology, especially when it affects the dermal layer. Caring for people with skin lesions requires nurses to take a holistic approach, plan strategies and a set of interventions that make it possible to achieve the proposed objectives through the systematisation of nursing care. The Nursing Intervention Classification (NIC) allows the mapping of actions or the arrangement of nursing activities within a group to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of nursing care. The systematisation of nursing care (SNC) is capable of providing support for the development of interdisciplinary and humanised care methodologies. It represents an important achievement in the field of nursing care, since it provides greater autonomy for nurses and secure support through recording.

In the elderly, the clinical presentation of allergic diseases is often misleading due to the borrowed symptomatology and comorbidities. Moreover, at this age, skin tests are most often negative in relation to a physiological skin anergy linked to age. The diagnosis of allergic diseases in the elderly is important because of their impact on the quality of life and the morbidity they can cause. Allergic diseases have an impact on the management of the elderly. The presentation of allergic disease is not always typical, which is why it is important to look for it, even if the symptoms are not very suggestive. The most frequent allergens in the elderly are household allergens. Drug allergies should be investigated in these patients with multiple medications. Asthma is a comorbidity that must be controlled to avoid a cascade of pathologies and hospitalization in the elderly.

The main aim of this work is to see if the quality of the mother-child relationship, specifically the dimensions of affection and conflict, interferes with the student's writing performance. The study involved 88 children of both sexes, aged between 9 and 11, enrolled in primary school in public and private schools located in the Greater São Paulo region. The instruments used for data collection were: Raven's Coloured Matrices Test, Writing Learning Difficulties Assessment Test and the Familiogram test. The data was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results suggest that there was no statistically significant correlation between the child's writing performance and the quality of the mother-child relationship. The results found deserve to be considered with caution, emphasising that the mother-child relationship cannot be understood as the main cause that best explains the failure in the child's writing development.

Paraphenylene diamine (PPD) is an aromatic amine used by women for cosmetic purposes, such as black hair dye or as a henna adjuvant. However, its use can lead to allergic reactions after skin application. When ingested, even at very low doses, it exhibits considerable systemic toxicity, first manifesting as cervico-facial edema and macroglossia which can lead to a rapidly fatal asphyxiation syndrome in the absence of medical treatment. Therapeutic treatment consists of reducing the toxic load and treating complications early. The aim of our work is to make the general public aware of the use of this molecule. We undertook an analytical study involving a qualitative and semi-quantitative analysis of about forty brands of henna marketed on the Algerian market. The results revealed that 35% of our samples contained PPD, and among them, 43% did not mention the presence of this molecule. In addition, in some cases, the concentration of PPD exceeded the standard of 2% (FDA).

The prognosis of cholecystitis depends on the speed of management. Early laparoscopy is the treatment of choice. There is still the problem of postoperative antibiotic therapy? This is a prospective, single-centre, randomised study. 176 patients with 88 in each arm. Pathology: mild to moderately severe acute cholecystitis that could benefit from early cholecystectomy. All patients received preoperative dual antibiotic therapy. Prior to surgery, the patients were randomly divided into two groups. One group continued to receive the same antibiotic therapy preoperatively, and 5 days later the other group received no further treatment. Mortality was zero in both arms. The postoperative infection rate was 4.5% in the group without antibiotics and 3.4% in the group with antibiotics. Clavien score, identical in both groups. The absence of antibiotics does not mean infection, sometimes even prophylactic antibiotics do not protect against infection. Let's save drugs, health has no price, but it has a cost!

Black African theater has undergone a diachronic evolution from an artistic point of view. Starting from an art of oral expression recounting the social, cultural, economic and political life of traditional Africa, this dramaturgy is, today, in search of a more universal field of action. From now on, the identity of the characters is neither racial nor fixed. The status of these is reconstituted by the reader in the course of the microstructures. In the subversive aesthetics or the rupture of Koffi Kwahulé, each word emits a sound similar to the sounds of different instruments of Jazz. This linguistic practice is a modality that allows him to create jazz theater. In addition, the dramaturgy of multicolored aesthetics, like the zebra, succeeds in the challenge of subversion by discoloring the clues that constitute its framework. It deconstructs, at the same time, the theatrical structure, the character, the space, the time and the frame. The theatrical art of Koffi Kwahulé demonstrates that African playwrights today are in search of a new aesthetic, a universal art that takes up the cause of every human being.

An AES is defined as any contact with blood or a biological liquid containing blood and involving either a skin invasion (puncture or cut) or a projection onto a mucous membrane (eye, mouth) or injured skin (claw, eczema, wound),In dentistry, but also in other health care services and laboratories, the risk of AES is omnipresent. This risk is linked to the care procedures performed in these facilities. The infectious agents mainly involved in AES are: hepatitis B and C viruses, as well as the human immunodeficiency virus. The purpose of our work is to evaluate the knowledge of the care personnel in dentistry concerning the process of prevention and management of the AES. We will begin with a reminder of the contaminating agents in dental practice. Then, we will address the occupational infections transmitted after an AES and we will evaluate the risk of seroconversion in the professional environment,Finally, we will study the means available to us to prevent blood-borne infections as well as what to do following an AES.
