In 1898, when gold was discovered in the Yukon Territory of Canada, men and women from all over the world converged on Alaska in blinding snowstorms. Among a small group of photographers there, P.E. Larss (later Larson) chronicled the Great Stampede to the Klondike, but died died years later without ever realizing the historic value of his work.
