Greek Ethnic Terminology

A significant contribution to the study of the Greek vocabulary used to describe local origins of individuals. Shedding new light on ancient grammarians and writers (many of whom survive only in quotations in later sources), it also studies the sources for an important surviving annotated list of place names, Stephanus of Byzantium's Ethnika.
