Gulab ki jadd

Despite being relatively young, the short narrative, or "afsaana," is one of the most significant literary subgenres in Urdu literature. This work was inspired by the modern industrial and mechanized era, as well as by western and literary ideas and trends. It has accepted the changing themes and literary devices that have emerged over time, along with the changing notions of what it is to live. This book "Gulab ki jadd (The Root of Rose)" collects a selection of short stories from contemporary Urdu fiction that were written by Urdu fiction writer Iqbal Ansari.
