- Through the Eyes of the LD Child

Om Living with a Learning Difference (Disability)

For everyone who struggles with learning difficulties this is a story for you! This is one individual's journey from high school dropout to a Doctorate in Educational Psychology! Dr R.A. Evans talks about what it is like to have and live with Learning Disabilities. This book gives people an insight to what is going on in the classrooms and the mind of an individual with learning Disabilities. Dr. R. A. Evans uses this book as a voice for all of those suffering with learning disabilities, Dyslexia, or ADHD. It not only lets those with learning disabilities know they are not the only ones out there but that they can achieve academically when afforded the instruction and attention they need. This book is written to be a source of hope for everyone that reads it, especially for individuals with learning challenges, their parents, their teachers, their family, and their friends. It exposes some of the struggles individuals with Dyslexia, Learning Disabilities, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) may experience. Most of the first section of the book comes from journal notes which Dr. Evans wrote as he worked through some of the many problems he encountered during the first 20 years of his life. The remainder comes from his personal experiences of learning about and living with my learning differences. Writing this book is a way to share my life and its many obstacles, challenges, experiences, and even disabilities to form the complete picture of my struggles. I explore four major areas that encompass my life. These areas I have titled Foundational Baggage, Perceptions, Reality, and Nikao (Conquer). Written by an individual with learning disabilities the book uncovers the incredible challenges and potential of millions of people with learning challenges. This book is perfect for showing those affected by learning challenges and their families there is HOPE!
