As Democratic Virgin Islands Congressman Stacey Plaskett referred to Matt Taibbi as a "so-called" journalist at a congressional hearing on Thursday, Taibbi, who published the Twitter Files late last year, defended his track record of reporting. Journalists published Twitter threads including emails from Twitter staff members that showed the company's historical decision-making procedures and content control attempts. On Thursday, Plaskett, a ranking member of the subcommittee headed by Republican Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan, dubbed Taibbi and Shellenberger "so-called journalists" and questioned their objectivity.
