Minnow Shine

Growing up in the South is one thing, but being raised in a bait store is more Southern than sweet tea and cornbread. Jug Wilson is a mere five years old, but he is "just as tough as the next guy and not afraid to prove it either." Through his eyes, Minnow Shine unfolds to expose the many adventures Jug experienced as a child. Pitfalls and foot nooses will be used to capture his older and much meaner sister, Martha Gene; a local trailer park dweller, Billy Ray Bartley, will also fall victim. A fierce gator attack will leave Jug, Uncle Mickey, and a greasy old coot named Bernard stranded in the middle of a desolate, mosquito-infested swamp. Thankfully, Mama and Aunt May will be along to rescue them, excluding Uncle Mickey. Bernard will provide Jug with fighting, swimming, trap building, and shooting lessons, but Sheriff Pearock is on the move, and he does not like moonshiners. Arland Olsen, a local entrepreneur, will open a bait store of his own, putting quite a strain on Uncle Mickey's place, but the colorful patrons of "Mickey's Worm Hole" will strike back. Martha Gene will be the first, and flies will zoom in from all directions, but financially, moonshine seems to be the answer.... "That's against the law, ain't it, Uncle Mickey?"
