Samantha Vale's life takes an unexpected turn when she meets Luke Fletcher, but it goes completely off the rails when she finds his house unlocked and empty, and a peculiar book in the armchair where his butt should have been.
How is it that one day she's working the cash register at a gas station in Halifax, and the next she's discussing the recent changes in raptor migration patterns with a bunch of Renaissance fair actors just a few meters away from a supposedly cursed forest? A cursed forest that is decidedly not in Canada, given its tragic lack of reasonable proximity to a Tim Hortons.
Sam must navigate a world where gas stations don't even exist, yet talking squirrels, voyeuristic unicorns, and demons with weird motivations do in order to find Luke, and perhaps equally important, a way back home.
And all without her Timmy's fix.
That's a tall order.
