Om Never A Good Time To Say Goodbye
Rachel watched the trees rush by outside the train's window. She had been on the train for over three days and she was ready to arrive at her destination. She felt stiff and tired of sitting and wondered how much longer she could take the confined space of her seat.
She stared down at her son. She still couldn't get over watching him sleep. His tiny perfect nose, mouth and eyes, made her heart melt with love. His long eyelashes rested on his pink cheeks and he looked like a tiny angel sleeping.
There had been a time when she had blamed her innocent baby for the troubles in her life, for making it difficult, but not anymore. There had been many people at fault in what had happened, but her baby wasn't one of those people.
She sighed and turned her attention out the window once more. It had been several years since she had visited her cousin Mary in Delaware and now, she was going to be living with her.
She hoped that Mary wouldn't be as judgmental of her as some had at home. What had happened to her had happened to many other young girls, but for others it stayed hidden, in the shadows, where everyone wanted to keep it.
For her, there had been no way to keep it hidden...But how will the people of this Amish community accept her?
