[15:32, 23/02/2023] Celestine Njang: he focus of this research is on participatory management: Jangjo, and Houston (2009), define participatory management as a balance that involves both subordinates and superior in information sharing, problem solving, and decision making. Crane (1979) defines participatory management as a management approach in which the subordinates in a particular situation are allowed and encouraged to participate in decisions that will affect them. As such participatory management is a technique or the process of involving subordinates in planning, decision-making, information and making changes in schools (Kinicki& Williams, 2003).When principals, carry out their functions of planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling, the responsibility is on them as School leaders to optimally involve other staff members in the decision-making process. This might be possible if they adopt a management style, such as participative management which could assist them to align and integrate staff efforts and interests with the goals of the school. This is so because participatory management increases teachers¿ creativity, involvement, and commitment.
