Polarization

Polarization has become a topic of significant interest in politics, society, and discourse around the world today. This work considers polarization as a rhetorical strategy that seeks to create division and solidarity in audiences. It establishes new theoretical categories for contemporary rhetoric, refines existing communicative concepts of polarization, and applies these concepts in a case study on the tea party movement in the United States.
