Om Ponnagaram
Ponnagaram portrays a Chennai unknown to many, sheds light on the grey areas of north Chennai that people accustomed to mainstream expressions are unaware of. The rules of this world might be strange to them. The novel portrays its protagonists reasonings and virtues from their perspective. It questions who are, why they are 'criminals' and what is 'crime'. It takes us on a journey through Chennai's labyrinthine lanes, talks of the reality and values devoured by the development hungry city, talks of the Gods, Ambitions, Dreams of the people who've lost their lives as price for the 'development'. Aravindan in his second novel takes us through ponnagaram, reveals us past the grey clouds surrounding it. More than just the journey, it makes the reader feel themselves as another character in Ponnagaram.
