PREDICTIVE MODEL OF HIP DYSPLASIA

Om PREDICTIVE MODEL OF HIP DYSPLASIA

Hip dysplasia is one of the most important and preventable causes of disability during early childhood. An analytical case-control study was carried out in patients with a diagnosis of hip dysplasia, attended by the Orthopedics and Traumatology service of the Carlos Manuel de Cespedes general provincial hospital of Bayamo, Granma province, in the period from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2021; with the objective of designing an index to predict the risk of developing hip dysplasia. For the calculation of the sample size, the EPIDAT statistical package was used, resulting in 32 cases and 64 controls. The cross product ratio (OR) and Chi-square were applied as an epidemiological instrument to quantify the strength of association between neonatal morbidity and the risk factor, with a reliability of 95% and a probability of less than 0.05.
