Kaysea Jonestaff is a 15-year-old privileged rich kid who had everything she ever wanted, but her life changes drastically when she gets caught stealing lipstick. In a world where even petty crimes punished severely, Kaysea sent to a prison located in the deepest depths of the ocean, where criminals sent to serve a life sentence.
The prison consists of a single giant area of about 500,000 miles, filled with forests, wild animals, lakes, streams, rivers, flowers, fruits, vegetables, lush green hills, and even small mountains. There are no guards, staff, or food. The inmates fend for themselves, build their own shelters, and hunt for their own food and communities.
Kaysea is frightened upon arrival in this new world of criminals, where she must survive alone. She quickly learns that she cannot rely on anyone else and must learn to adapt to her new surroundings if she hopes to survive. As she navigates through the challenges of building her shelter, hunting for food, and avoiding dangerous wild animals, Kaysea discovers her true strength and resilience.
Through her journey, Kaysea learns valuable lessons about herself, the world, and the importance of survival. Can she manage to survive in a world full of criminals and establish a fresh start for herself, or will she give in to the threats that exist at every turn?
